I wasn't in the GB when the Aurora name was chosen. I do remember seeing Aurora Club chips well before my Rumble meet up in 2016 because Pat was talking about coming up with a big fucking salmon or something like that. I'm guessing pron was up no later than April/May 2016. It very unfortunate but I agree with ovo that your Aurora sets are spectacular.

In the end it doesn't change how much I love my personal custom set. The people I play with will most likely never encounter these other chips, so in my life outside of the forum it has zero effect. Will this matter to me in a month from now I doubt it. But I don't think I'm that out of line for being bummed another name wasn't chosen for a massive set that will flood the forum for what I would assume years to come.

It's "pltrgyst", dummy. Try it phonetically, and see if that helps.

So it takes "audacity" to mention what your personal preferences are?

I'm pretty sure your assertion is false, since just yesterday I posted that Viet Rounder's custom set might be my favorite set of all time. There are lots of terrific custom and fantasy sets -- Lucky Ladies, Blue Ridge Pokers, Puggy's Colony Clubs, Copperhead Card Rooms -- that I've expressed admiration for over the years. I even own some of them. In the fantasy arena, I just sold a large set of WTHCs, and still have a small set, plus a large set of NPS.

My snotty posts are generally directed at people who can't distinguish fact from conjecture, or are too dumb to conduct a discussion or argument is a straight line -- those to whom debate is what goes on de hook.

If you're too chickenshit to insult people to their faces on PCF and have to hide on CT, at least get your facts straight.

While I'm here: Pat, your set is terrific, and not diminished in any way by the Star chips. Your dealer buttons too, while I'm at it -- and I have a couple.

If you want to steam about something, how about the existing chips from the Hollywood Aurora or the casinos in Aurora, CO?

I concur on this in all respects. Had the group been aware of your name, it wouldn’t have used it. There was much discussion and voting on names, and others were rejected for this very reason.

I get were your coming from, Aurora is not exclusive to me. When I first saw them I thought it was cool a casino had Aurora in it, then I read were the name was chosen by group members when 100 different names would have worked, so I got butt hurt about it.

lol @ the comparison to grocery shopping. The legalities remain to be seen but this was far more than circumventing company policy. The potential consequences to GPI and WSOP business exist whether GBers are willing to admit it or not.

I'm confused since this contradicts your first paragraph. I disagree regarding damages, I don't think that would be difficult to prove at all.

    Indeterminate at this point.

The fact that it is normal and business as usual doesn't make it right. It's certainly Tommy and the Mods (new band name) right to admin their site as they wish. It's also a terrible way to build community. But they've shown that isn't the goal. The evidence is that once the curtain is pulled back on the wizard's activity the members come here to complain where they have less chance of being censored.

Again, to get back on topic, this thread is to find a new landing spot so that we can disassociate with over modding, holier than thou members who have the gang mentality. Which is sort of funny now that I think about it, because just a while back, many of the banned members were accused of grouping/attacking together, now it seems the roles have reversed DRASTICALLY.

One problem with these discussions is they turn into a jumbled mess. It’s like starting a thread to talk about a specific political topic and within the first few hours people start chiming in about health care, tweets and the military with the original topic being mentioned every 12th post.

The point is, many of you are pissed and you’re pissed about different things. Some bring up alleged fictitional websites and fraud, some bring up greed, “insider selling”, moderation, market change, exclusion, lies, condescension, etc. The problem is when you have lots of guys discussing all of these things simultaneously I don’t have a clue what exactly any one of you personally/individually is really mad about.

In my eyes what the anger boils down to for the majority is exclusion as many of you have said you would have been in and kept the secret (with only a couple saying they’d have passed on the opportunity). That is completely understandable... personally I knew about the chips as I was a last hour invite to the initial buy (literally) which I couldn’t make work in the given timeframe. Despite having knowledge of the chips and expressing interest in future orders I never got an invite back into the group from Tommy so I do understand the frustration, I never saw so much as a picture of any of them until a few months ago. But if your major beef is being excluded, if you’d have happily joined the buy and kept it quiet, that pretty much makes any other complaint you have moot.

The one thing I’ve seen that is most consistent in these posts is “community” in quotations and with eyerolls, suggesting those in the GB only give a fuck about themselves, pointing to lies and snide remarks as your verifications. Per the “lies”, I feel you’re talking about one member (who of course wouldn’t say anything about the GB but absolutely should have just avoided posting in that thread). Per the snide remarks I feel like you’re talking about two, maybe three members. Frankly, if you loved the chipping community as much as you guys suggest... if you let three guys postings take that away from you that’s entirely a you problem. When it comes to GB members almost all of them had two options... “buy” or “don’t buy” and to keep it quiet. If you’ve let this change your opinion of them that’s also on you as they’ve done nothing wrong.

FWIW pertaining site moderation I couldn’t agree more... deleting posts and closing threads is a very stupid solution.

could not agree anymore with this statement. the thread police are insane, unless people are posting racists, derogatory, or inflammatory comments/memes, there is no reason to moderate so heavily.

go look back at some posts from your favorite members, as Ronoh alluded to, I'm sure you can guess who those are, they consistently insult people and seemingly never get their posts modded/deleted. seems very strange

I never understood the "gang mentality" placed on myself and some friends in the NE area, and I don't think the mods and PCF members have a gang mentality. The problem, at it's core, is that there are a bunch of people who are WAY too overly sensitive to be moderators of a website.

I'm talking about one person - Tommy. If you ran the GB, it's an ENTIRELY different matter versus the guy running it also being the site owner who controls access, moderation, private subforums, etc. My frustration is with Tommy and Tommy alone.

I don't know him personally, but to me it is not clear if he is done with PCF (assuming so) or just Meet Ups.
