Seems like traffic has slowed to a complete stand still here, would those of you who are active be interested in starting a Facebook private group for design discussions, hand analysis and the like? Or something similar to Facebook...

I miss all the hand analysis and interesting discussions, seems like no1 is posting here, and the other place has had few and far between interesting threads in recent times.

By the way I didn't get your p.m. at PCF I haven't signed back in and don't plan on it for at least a short while.

After the clusterfuck discussion on the other site regarding AS and ES chips, I was hoping there would be an informative and more colorful discussion about the chips here, as the higher-ups here are less likely to have a part in that GB. However, I came and saw the traffic here is non-existent. Truly stunning what has happened here, although I do hate the UI and the he entire design of this site.

I do have FB, but never post or follow any groups. I am hesitant to start as I just do't like how they track everything you do and you don't know where your information ends up. We need to find an alternative to here and the other place as well.

It's crazy what they did. I think the damage is irreparable.

There will be no discussions on either site, too many shared mods and admins. I'm over the entire thing, but I'd like a place where the missing regulars have a place to chime in on all things poker and chips. I miss JButlers analysis on hand histories and design threads. I miss courages weekly hosting posts...

I agree. Let it stay at PCF. I might have to join a BBQ forum or something to get my forum posting fix.

Realistically there are still a lot of good people over there. I don't like how the current situation is being handled by some Tommy and some of the members that acquired the chips. Actually, there are members on both sides that are acting like little kids.

I'll have to start a pron thread. I should be getting 600 more Oak Trees in the mail today. Takes my set up to 200 x .25, 600 x 1, 400 x 5, 100 x 25, and 20 x 100. They'll probably hit the felt in a couple of weeks when I celebrate my birthday.

The first real discussion I saw about the issue was on here; however, that thread was nuked in no time. I was surprised. I figured people would openly get to discuss the situation on here...I was very wrong.

I hope you guys continue to post here and on the other site as well. I hate to lose members there, and would like to see it get better again here! I am hopeful that time will heal the wounds, it has a way of doing that.

The AS/ES thread was actually here for at least a week, and depending on who you ask I think it was taken down for valid violations of terms here. It was a very different thread for sure.

There’s a severe gang mentality it feels like, and those are all people in positions of (forum) Power. It’s an uphill battle for any little guy to get into a legitimate debate against people who are on the site 24/7. Imo of course

My biggest issue is with site moderation. No transparency, random deletion, and god forbid you disagree with (one) mods. Holier than now attitude. Talking down to people, etc. THAT is what has made PCF feel less and less inviting for me in the last 6 months. Well, that and missing some of my favorite members posts

The whole GB, while shady as shit, doesn't much matter to me as I only care about custom chips - but the way it went down and the after shocks may be a forum killer.

Just for the record, it was in protest of the moderation that I sent Tommy the pm hoping to shut down the group buys.

I’m banned there now for a post in the AS $5 thread. I can’t believe it’s ban worthy, but whatevs. I’m done there anyway.

Site maintenance here will never be any good. The only hope is for a new site to spring up.

Site moderation is almost an issue on any forum. If not at first, then sometime down the road as the forum becomes more popular, needs a few Mods and requires a set of rules. Unfortunately people have differences, they get on each other's nerves and start making lots of questionable posts and comments (which I am guilt of myself) and then we end up nowhere again. I remember this being a huge issue on 2+2 many years ago and that site has become totally useless. Hopefully someone can figure out a way to have a more useful setting for people to enjoy what they love, including chipping. We all love the game enough, that we should be able to find a 'lounge' where we can hang out, chat, trade, and discuss things without the constant fight and bickering.

I wish they had chosen a different name than Aurora. I suppose I shouldn't care but at the moment I'm bumming out. They clearly didn't give a rats what i would think about it. I know I don't own the name Aurora but I did spend over $10,000 on chips and tables based around that theme to just get it jacked.

fyi.. though maybe not realistic, controlling interest in this forum is available for purchase...

If I just try to look from an outside perspective, it's a crazy thing that was pulled off with the AS/ES/PS chips... I can only imagine the uncertainty, logistics and possibly too many cooks in the kitchen, etc.
I wasn't invited to the GB, but in my view, I can't honestly have had an expectation that I would have been. If it was an unlimited quantity purchasing opportunity, that would be different. I found out recently that at least one person, (maybe more) asked the leaders of the GB for me to be invited. That request was denied by one or more people for whatever reason (doubt I'll ever find out why).
I was oblivious to this whole venture until very recently, just like most of the community.. so from my perspective it was kept on the DL.
Even after seeing just some of the AS chips, though it should have been fairly obvious (and subconsciously it was), I wasn't 100% sure if they were real casino chips and the story behind them.. I messaged someone from the mogh/chipguide and they told me they were generic manufacturer's chips made for home games... defintely not from a real casino.
..when I saw that Palm Beach Cruise tribute $100 from the ES tourney set (and others).. even though I was already fairly certain (just wanted confirmation), I was now 100% sure these were chips designed by chippers, for chippers.
I can see both sides of the situation and the grey in-between. It's tough for many (myself included) not in the GB seeing a rare grail type opportunity at reasonable prices, but only after the opportunity is gone and they weren't included in it.. it can be disheartening... then on the other side, there is the reality of what appears to have been needed to get this venture pulled off...
If I was asked to join the GB and decided to participate (depending on the info I was provided) I personally wouldn't be smug about it later and to some extent probably be apologetic knowing others would feel slighted/excluded.
I honestly don't believe this was a nefarious venture.. I just think there were necessary "evils" to make it happen. I also think there is a responsibility to let the PCF community speak it's mind about it and work it out to whatever understanding each member comes to.
Not sure why the Aurora Star $5 marketplace thread was closed. I realize the actual ebay listing technically ended, but that thread is obviously not about an ebay listing. I could see how closing it could send a "we have heard enough" message. Though not sure who closed it or why.
