looking for ideas, input/feedback etc. for this stamp I am working on for a set of BCC custom solids. I am not very good with graphics though so any help would be appreciated.

    Here is the basic design:

Here is a weak attempt to see what it migh look like in a gold stamp. (Like I said, I suck with graphics!) But this is why I need your help, lol!

    Looks interesting.

I would suggest to arc the bottom text the other way so both linesof text are read the same way.

"Live Free or Die" would work well too.

LOL, i couldn't figure out how to get the text on the path that way.

Yup, I thought of that too, but that particular version of the snake came from the "Culpepper Minutemen" flag, a militia regiment from Va. and it said "Liberty or Death" on it taken from Patrick Henry's speech.

That's a cool idea. I'd probably flip the text also, and maybe tighten up the entire design a bit (bring the text closer to the image by using a smaller circle for the baseline). I think that would make it a more coherent unit, and also you could get all of the elements that much larger within the space you have to work with.

If you need help finalizing a design, I'd be glad to play around with it.

Glad to help. If you're happy with this I can send you the original .eps file. Unless you need a different format...?

One other little thing I would like to add would be sized a little smaller than the "OR" and centered right below the snake,

    Clemmons, NC
    EST. MMVI

I think that would fill in that area a bit and balance it all out. I will also call BCC and see what format they need. Thanks again!

that's great! I talked to Mike at BCC and they can use about anything including .eps file. If you will, email it to me to jbragg(at)triad.rr.com. What do I owe you for your efforts?

    Thanks again!

Cool. I just emailed it to you.

You don't owe me anything--I just did it for the fun.

That said, if you happen to get a few extras of the finished product, I wouldn't mind seeing them! :)

My 2 cents on the artwork:

The small lines running through the snake are a problem, if you can take them out. I would prefer just the outline of the snake coiled if possible.

The lettering in the circle would work better if it was bolder.

The lettering beneath the snake is too small, try to make it larger and bolder.

Remember it is only going to be 1 inch in diameter at size.

Looks great. I will just have to print it out and see it at size to make sure.
