    Hello, all,

Been a long time since I've shown my face in these parts. Haven't played much poker in years since the online thing went south and most of my poker-playing friends moved away from town. Nevertheless, I've completed an initial design for a set of Day of the Dead poker chips, and I wanted to ask for some feedback from some real chip fans. Please let me know what you think--the more critical, the better! I'm also working on a non-denomination version, but I'm not sure I'll finish that one.

UPDATE: More final, plus an NCV chip, and plaques:

UPDATE: Here are some new, more festive versions. I was told by Day of the Dead experts that I wasn't conveying enough of the joy of the holiday, and I like these a lot better:

Anyone still prefer the old verion?

man, i love these. just the kind of design that can show off all the best aspects of ceramic chips. if you have them made - or if you don't - you might even consider licensing the design to one of our sponsors as i have a feeling they could sell a few of these.

the only suggestion i might have to that you could consider deepening the color on the $25, $100, and $500. i like the subdued look, but they could blend a bit in pots.

That's true on the JPG for sure, but the colors are largely sampled from my Tiki designs (which were colors from Chipco's palette), so I'm hoping that they'll be more vibrant and certainly distinct. I'll definitely keep an eye on it! Thanks!

What a fun line of chips this would be.

Have you designed the rolling edges yet?

No. I'm waiting to see what would be available from a manufacturer (if I ever actually make these). For my first set, I did diagonal edge stripes. While I don't necessarily want to repeat that, It'd be cool to do something a little unusual.

Sample dibs!!! I'm loving the $1000- that would make a great card capper.

Re: Happy Dia De Los Muertos (Chip Designs)

Or something that reflects the rim designs of each chip. Maybe work in some extra color. It's hard to capture the exuberance of Day of the Dead art while keeping the chips feeling one-color.

I think these look fantastic. It's hard for me to pick a favorite between the $1 and the $500. Well done all around though!!

Wow! Great design. Why limit oneself to soulless computer graphics, when one can hand draw the design? (At least it looks hand drawn ).

This is the type of design that makes one want ceramics! Wouldn't change a thing.

Yeah, I had to push myself a bit to be able to, but I wanted to be sure to have it to show for the Day Of The Dead!

This game is the main reason I would consider buying a set of these. :)
