    Hello all,

Big poker fan here who would like to start a regularish 1 table home game for my friends.. and so first thing is first I am on the hunt for a nice set of chips to play with so I figured this would be a good place to become a member.

So far my hunt hasn't been too great, as locally I have only been able to find sets of Laurel Crown while I think they are ok to feel the design isn't the greatest to me.. I've been really impressed by some Desert Sands and Nevada Jacks that i've seen online although to import a set of 500 would be pushing 400+
    though i'm fairly open.

    Welcome aboard!

Unfortunately, there aren't many options for chips in Canada. Looks like you found MRCPoker.

If a china clay set is acceptable, the Crazy Horse chips from StraightPokerSupplies might fit the bill. They are Milano chips with a different label.

They are in Canada and are priced in Canadian $$$, so they may be a reasonably priced alternative.

Yes found MRC on a whim.. I actually only live 10 minutes away heh.

Am surprised there aren't more options in Canada as Poker has a decent sized fanbase wonder why you cannot find anymore.

Well, they have to import the chips and resell them at enough of a markup to make it worth their while. Given the premium they have to charge for these products, smaller markets may not have enough demand for mid-range to upper-range products to make a go of it.

We also have limited access to the used market (at least on sites like CT) as many sellers are now refusing to ship outside of the US. I've seen enough "US Only" sales now to get the hint. If you see something you really want, you may have to have it shipped to a US address and bring it over yourself.
