Yesterday £49 bid and 28 watchers and having to relist
£11 and 7 watchers thanks eBay .
I find cancelled then relisted auctions are generally slightly tainted. We have all followed offerings like that where the "seller" pulls the auction, sometimes more than once. That don't prevent me from bidding at the last second but it does deter 'normal' bids. Though if it happens more than a couple of times I quit chasing the auction.
I wouldn't be all that concerned. The final buyers are all still out there ready to grab these. Though every time the auction gets relisted, the damage accumulates. So it would be best if that can be avoided.
PS I guess I wouldn't be surprised for a ban hammer to be incoming . . . .
And why a ban hammer ?
I wouldn't be shocked if a moderator took post #122 as a confession of prior misdeeds rather than a joke.
Well they seem to have a good sense of humor and not make any snap judgments! I'm trying to avoid questions abut john boy if anybody is noticing apart from a couple of pics to lighten the mood...
Probably not the best approach... John Boy was really big on lightening the mood.
Not this moderator. We're reasonable and tolerant people. I haven't seen anything posted by Chip Magnet or stratus51 that violates this site's policies or is grounds for a ban.
@everybody: I realize that emotions are running hot, having spilled over from PCF. However, it should have run its course by now, and it's time to back off and end the harassment. It's ugly. Let this play out.
Sorry, I guess I haven't followed closely enough to see the insults. That's a violation of our terms to if you can point them out.
perhaps, for various reasons. But then again it could be simply because someone is reporting them and making who knows what kind of claim on why the auction should be taken down.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not telling anybody they should relax and buy any chips, caveat emptor. I'm just saying we know these chips exist, we know they're in this person's position, anything outside of that can be discussed but those aren't disputed facts.
As far as I know, the vile insults were posted by John boy UK on PCF.
I saw the auction for the PNY $1's before it was taken down. The ad mentioned doing business outside eBay, which is against eBay's T&C. I'm not comfortable inferring that the listing was taken down by the seller for any other reason.
True that. That's definitely against eBay t&c.
Should have worded it better,i actually meant someone offer me a certain amount and then i adjust the bid and then the buyer bids then i end the auction in his favor.but i was a bit lazy in explaining that.
Apparently so is offering up your manwand for sale... But I swear it was just for charity!
Latest on the auction bidding>if anybody cares anymore.
In this case we know what happened, but when it just happens to an auction I was tracking the only thing I know is the auction is gone.
Sometimes that means the sale took place off-ebay. Other times the seller was just testing the waters and wasn't going to let the auction run unless the price was right. Perhaps the wording of the offer wasn't accurate. Perhaps ebay struck the auction under their terms and conditions. It is not as though a watcher gets the inside scoup.
From a buyer's point of view, it is annoying but not too surprising the first time it happens. If it happens regularaly, it is understandable that some prospective buyers just give up. So my advice to any seller is try to keep these things to a minimum.
I'm constantly changing starting bids upward in price by request but mainly its all below £4 or £5 ..Always doing transactions paid direct to my pay pal ....even mentioning avoiding fees in messages to customers are glossed over by eBay! but i guess when the money gets up they step in..
Can i just ask admin if its OK to keep posting the eBay auction screenshots of the current bidding ?
