Paulson Fun Nite Rarities - pr0n included

i know that fun nites are still being produced apparently, but i was wondering if any colors are more rare than others.

    i have black 100s, purple 500s, orange 1000s, and grey 5000s.

i am always looking for green T25s, but never seem to see them.

i also rarely see the lower denoms for cash games.

    any insight to this?

What leads you to believe these are still being produced?

i have read in at least 2 threads in the past that they still make them for casinos for training. obviously that could be false information.

that is why i posted this thread i would love some history info on the fun nites.

I have 90 FN 5's that I bought for the specific purpose of using them as the bring in chip for a stud game that never materialized. I actually have 100, but 10 are warped pretty badly...

Don't see why this is so hard to believe.

I will assume that we are talking about Paul-Son made, H&C, hot-stamped, solid color chips? If so, then there is no reason (outside of costs) that Paul-Son (GPI) will make them for a valid gaming enterprise (a legitimate casino).

I believe that Atlantic City is still under a requirement that they MUST have a "practice" session (with Fun Nite chips and bills) before they can be allowed to open and use real chips and cash.

Nevada does not have such a requierment and the casino operators are so sophisticated with opening a casino that they no longer need the warm-up. The Palazzo , which just opened in Las Vegas had no pre-opening rehersals (that I am aware of). The Wynn is the last place I am aware of that had rehersals (for invited guests and employees) and they only used fake currency.

However, Roolife... I would be interested in seeing scans of your chips, if you have them. And, I moved your thread over here to the Collector's Corner.

    Re: Fun Nite Rarities

I don't know any new casinos openning in AC, but if every new casino that opens in AC have to have this "practice" session, wouldn't that mean Paulson is still making Fun Nites chips for these new casinos? Are these "practice" session also by invitations only?

I've seen other Fun Nite chips that's not H&C, e.g. scroll and diecard mold. Are those from AC?

Not necessarily from A/C. Rehersals/practices have been done at many places. Also, who's to say that "Fun Nite" chips aren't leased/rented and re-used. In A/C the Brighton used them, but had their name hot-stamped on them. Those probably were not re-used.

    Re: Fun Nite Rarities

In discussing the A/C rules and requirements with Archie Black, founder of the CC&GTCC and author of Blacks Catalogue of Atlantic City chips and tokens....

He said that when the casinos do the dress-rehersals, Gaming is all over the place. Everything is tested. Gaming, cocktail service, hotel operations (A/C casinos MUST have a hotel), restrooms, restaurants, the whole works and the public is invited!

It seems that slot machines are live (operating with real money) but all table games, KENO, etc. operate with play paper money or Fun Nite chips. Turns out the rehersal is also a big charity fund raising event. When you buy-in for the paper money or Fun Nite chips, you are doing so at a rate of real $5 for $100 play money.

At the end of the evening you cannot cash-in the chips or play money and all the buy-in money goes to a charity. So, this means that all the "Fun Nite" $5 chips we see cost 20 cents each at the rehersal event, $25's cost $1.25 each and $100's cost $5 each!

Well, now that is tempting. "I'd like $500 in chips please. Yes, that is correct, I'd like 10,000 Ones."

Nice pr0n! Thanks for that. If they were easier to obtain, I'd try to assemble a set of Fun Nites. As it is, I'll just admire the sets that other people obtain.
