Having the boss and co-workers coming over in 3rd week of January for a home game. Always wanted my own custom chips, and now is the time. I am willing to a designer to help me get my chips designed. I was going to order from ChipLab given the short-turnaround times, but I am open to other vendors.

I don't have a great idea of what I want. On one side, I want denominations and a line of text going around the denomination. On the other side, I want a graphic of sorts with some logo'd text. I want traditional colors, but with some colors more bright (e.g., neon green, neon orange, neon pink). Edging on the side.

There are some stock designs on ChipLab that I liked, but I don't have time to swap out the colors and create individual designs myself. E.G., I like the "spotted pebble casino" design, and the "CHL" designs... they look nice and sporty. But I want more color variation between the chips. E.G., could go spotted pebble, but I would like the inlay to match the color on the outside of the chip.

So looking for one design, that will have different colors for the 4 types of chips I plan on ordering.

Want the design done within a week or two, to allow enough time for ordering the chips/receipt of the chips. My game is 1/21.

I could do this myself in Photoshop I guess, but I'm quite OK to work with a designer who can do the heavy lifting. It will be an iterative process, but I'm not crazy as I don't have a dream set in mind.

    Thank you!

Thats a pretty tight timeline. You might try Sal at OWPS.

That won't allow for any samples either. It's 3 weeks just to get samples.

I've assumed will have to do without the samples... that said, I thought the MFGs advertise 1 week turnarounds including delivery.... I assumed the hold up was just getting the art work done? Is that not the case?

Owps is 3 weeks. Not sure of the others. Best bet is order stock then start working on a design now for your next game.

Hrmm.. not good! Liking the colors of the Rounders Replicas... was thinking of modifying the bear design to simplify the design process.

Just throwing this out there...what about borrowing/renting someone's set? I know most people may cringe at the idea but trying to think out of the box. I'm sure a deposit arrangement could be made.

This would allow you to take your time to develop a design you will love and be proud of rather than a rush job you may not be satisfied with long term.

If you aren't dead set on ceramics, you could buy China clay blanks and add custom labels and apply them yourself.

Apache and other vendors have several nice looking chips in stock.

Timeline is definitely tight... have yet to hear back from any MFG on what is doable or not, and no designers have said hello. For some reason I really thought it would only take 48 hours for the set to arrive.

I spent the whole day trying to think of chip designs/names etc. Wifey will be very upset if I end up ordering nothing!!!

I like the Rounders colors a lot. Nice bold primary colors beyond the classic colors.

I took two stabs at designs... one is just replacement of the Rounders bear with different animal types. The other is an attempt at an Indian theme.

I think the gorilla modification I made to the bear is pretty sweet. "Gorilla Chips". The tiger comes out pretty well. And the first elephant works. Not sure how I feel about different animals on each chip like that though... feels a bit trite. The gorilla really pops though I think.

I am Indian, so tried to create an Indian themed set. Even if that clip art was acceptable, would need someone to help make the chips look sharper, and a find a way to add text/body to them to make them pop. I think this set also has a lot of potential.

If I had to rank them, it would be
    (I) modified Indian set [add text on the non-denom side, maybe some background color as well? not sure]
    (II) All gorilla set
(III) Animal set with different animals... drop the camel.. and consider a different image on the reverse....
(IV) Maybe an all elephant set (I don't think all tiger set would be good.. would be trite)

Thank you Meddler. Will see who I can connect with Monday and take it from there.

I am going to acquire some modified Rounders chips with the silverbacks first... and then make a more ornate Indian themed set with a designer down the road.

I actually did exchange emails with CPC who are ~6 weeks (excluding any rush premium). Won't work for me. I clearly waited till last minute!

Thank you, and everyone else who posted.
