I thought I'm gonna be quiet about this, until I have gotten my forthcoming
custom CPC's. But I just can't help myself. I have to go Full Monty with this,
    since I am thrilled.

It was no secret back in the Autumn 2011 that WSOP 818 chipes are my all
time favorite chips. It is no secret either that I just LOVE Art Deco. One
of my favorite Art Deco items I've gotten from the US is this clock, Lawson
Art Deco clock Sierra from 1940's. It still runs, almost like new. It just
loses a little bit, say one hour per day. But I love it anyways.

    LawsonArtDecoclock.jpg

Ok, back to chipes. I will be getting my first custom chips sometime at 2015,
depending on when the mold will be installed and my chip bankroll. My divorce
cut me down for a good chunk, so bankroll management and savings are required.
The order will take place in Spring and I will have the chips sometime at
    Summer.

I had been thinking about a long long time, what theme should I use my ASM/CPC
custom chip set. Yepp, I was already thinking about it, when ASM was still up
and running. I just couldn't pull the trigger back then. When DR.OTT took over,
I really thought it was over. But luckily Jimb and Davids brought a salvation
for us all in the form of CPC.

I can't wait to see all of those marvellous custom sets, which mockups I have
seen lately. They will all be so awesome.

As for my own customs, couple of times I thought to go ceramic. But I'm a hard
boiled clay chipper and ceramics are just not my thing. So when CPC started I
thought: "NOW!". Oh, I also got some hotstamps ready at meatboy's, but that's
    a future story.

I ordered a sample set and started playing with it. It was really fun to try
to decide which colors to use. I knew I wanted to use cali colors. And I needed
a cash set, since I didn't have one. After long time of playing with the color
sample set I came up with the following colors:

    $0.25 - pink
    $1 - white
    $5 - yellow or orange
$20 - lila, lavender of equivalent
    $100 - charcoal or gray

The Art Deco theme just came by itself. I also have always had a love for
Miami's Art Deco district. Haven't been there yet, but plan is to visit in
the future years. And the hotel I love the most over there is Colony Hotel.
    Poker Zombie knows

    ch1.jpg
    ch2.jpg
    ch3.jpeg

So I started to combine colors and edgespots to get the proper Art Deco colors
into the set. I googled pics of the district and handpicked chips from the
    color sample set.

    First.jpg

This is where I started. However I wasn't satisfied with it at all. First I
thought I want my quarter to be definitely a halfpie with peach/orange and
maroon. And twntyfiver in imperial blue chip. But something was not right.
Back to the color sample set, more play with it and I came up with the
    second version in two versions.

    Second.jpg

A bit better but then I remembered a lovely TRK Showboat 50 center. I gotta
get that. So after that decision the base colors started to get really in
    place.

    Third.jpg

    Fourth.jpg

Something was still off. The $1 needed to be 3A12, so that was the next step.
And some fine tuning for $20.

    Fifth_no_inlays.jpg

Well had to get some inlays, just to see how they would look. I found one of
my old mockups, and put it in.

    Fifth_with_inlays.jpg

And then I was off to do some comparisons...

    Comparison_1.jpg

    Comparison_2.jpg

    Comparison_3.jpg

Eventually I came up with the final chips and colors.

$0.25: DG Pink with Retro Lavender/Retro Lavender
$1: Bright White with DG Peach/Maroon/DG Green
$5: Arc Yeallow with Retro Lavender/Grey
    $20: Lavender with DF GReen/DG Pink/Imperial Blue
    $100: Grey with DF Orange/Yellow/Blurple

I might consider changing the edgespot color order in $20 chip,
maybe I will put the blue in the middle. We'll see. But no base
    changes are required anymore.

Then it was time to contact Johnny5. There really wasn't any designer option
for me after GCOP's. So I contacted him and we started the project.

Also contacted for David and asked for tentative prices and possible schedule.
Got the info and started saving.

During the design phase I showed one mockup ($5 chip) to my niece. She does not
know anything about poker and pokerchips. I asked her opinion and the first thing
she said to me was: "When I looked at that, the first thing that came into my mind
was "Hercule Poirot". THEN I knew we had succeeded.

After handful of emails between J5 and me, we came up with Colony Club cash set.

    Final_Chips_Puggy.jpg

I decided I wanted to do an alternate hundo, se there are two versions of it.
I will go for halfpie version. The mockups are below:

Finally, after J5 had done his magic, I am now able to present you my first customs:

Thank you everyone, who helped with me the breakdown at CT some times ago.

The breakdown (without replacements) will be either:
    200 x $.25
    500 x $1
    200 x $5
    60 x $20
    40 x $100
    or
    200 x $.25
    400 x $1
    300 x $5
    60 x $20
    40 x $100

If someone wants, sample sets will be available. And to keep everything in one
thread, please put your sample set wishes in this thread or the similar thread
    on the other site.

Thanks for reading. And THANK YOU J5, once again

Fantastic design. As always, J5 worked his magic.

So simple, so perfect and so to the point. I'm a bit of an art-deco junkie myself and these embrace the spirit of the era. Love them!!

Oh, and add me on the list for a sample set.

    Are they here yet?
