I slept in Christmas morning.......til granddaughter came in and woke me up at 10:00 am, and asked if I was going to sleep all day. Time to do Christmas, she said. Reminiscent of my kid's earlier years when they would come wake their Dad and I up at the crack of dawn. lol!

Anyway, after a good breakfast of scrambled eggs, hash brown potatoes, bacon, gravy and pecan biscuits.....we all went to a Christmas afternoon movie. Saw The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1. Very, very good! Can't wait to see Mockingjay - Part 2!!

The original Hunger Games was not very interesting to me. Watched the second one: Catching Fire a couple of days ago on NetFlix.....and it was much better. Liked it. Then Mockingjay - Part 1 was even better!

Anyone else see a Christmas movie today......if so, what did you see?

No movies...(family is STILL here) -- however I got Maze Runner for x-mas and really want to watch it! Read the trilogy of books and want to see it.

I just finished watching The Princess Bride. It never gets old.

Edit: Followed by To Be or Not to Be. I can't believe I've never seen this!

Saw Unbreakable and The Interview. Obviously expectations for the latter was low and the movie did not disappoint. Unfortunately the former was not much butter. In fact, I'd say The Interview was more entertaining and had better production quality. The good news we rented The interview for $5.95. The bad news is we saw Unbreakable in the theater.

We wanted to see The Imitation Game but it was sold out everywhere. Makes sense as it scored a 89% and 94% or RT.

Went to see The Imitation Game last week. Outstanding. Turing is a hero of mine, and the movie did not disappoint. Cumberbatch gets my vote for best actor Oscar, as well. I was surprised that my local theaters weren't showing it, and had to drive a bit to a theater, but the drive was definitely worth it.

On the other hand, I was disappointed in Exodus. Good special effects, but was just storytelling. For a story of such biblical significance, I was expecting something more profound.

And now I want to see Princess Bride again. Have fun stormin' the castle!

Totally agree about exodus. Another very weak holiday movie.

Just watched "Horrible Bosses 2" with my Wife and a friend; very funny. We do not "go out" to see movies at a real theatre often (we prefer to watch at home in our pajamas) but this one turned out to be worth the trip. The only real downside is it has been so long since we saw the first one, we didn't remember much about it. It was still good, but we should havewatched the first one again before we went.

Didn't know that Horrible Bosses 2 was out yet. Another one on my list.

Just watched Divergent again......preparing for the next movie Insurgent, due out in March 2015. Can't wait for that one too! :)

Any New Years Day movies seen (today or last night) at the theater or at home that were good??

Watching an 'old' movie today at home.....called "The Upside of Anger" (2005) A little depressing and a little bit of comedy. The upside is that I always like Kevin Costner movies. :)
