First visit to the new poker room in Salem, NH. Fairly busy here, nice tables and chairs.

    The chips ... meh.

Everyone other than the server looks so grim.

The inlay is cute, IMO, and goes nicely with the name. Plastic?

Yeah. Metal slugs confirmed by the magnet in my phone case. They look pretty nice, but they're very slippery. Way too easy to drop a bunch when you pick them up.

I will say that I approve of this. It's kinda small (less than 4 chips), but I like it.

When I was there last, the plaques were black and disappeared into the dimly lit room and dark felt. I got in a hand with a guy where I shoved thinking we were $300 effective, but we were $800 effective. I might not have made such a huge over bet had I seen them.

And yes, those chips are slippery as hell. the worst in NH in my experience.

    Good point about the plaques.

I like them as a novelty sort of thing, but not so much in terms of practicality. They're not necessary at all for $1/$2, and they're probably not necessary for $2/$4 either if the place has a sufficient number of $25 chips.

You'd probably be grim if you lived north of the Arctic Tundra too.

Seems like they’re mostly focused on cash games - they only have a couple of weeknight tournaments and one Saturday per month?
    I’ll stick with Hampton Falls.

More of a stakes / disposable income issue. I love a .25/.50 game. But I’m usually not excited to throw multiple buyins at a $1/2 game. And I learned quickly that playing with scared money is a waste of time AND money.

Yeah, good discipline. Most of the dead money these days comes from the under rolled that can’t manage the variance.
