So I was looking over my sets and I seem to prefer Cash sets. At least I have more of them than Tourney sets. I have Cash sets that can be played like a Tourney set, but if I just go by what they were designed for, I guess over 75% of my sets are Cash sets. 6 are both, but only 3 pure Tourney sets.

What is your breakdown on your sets ?

    2 cash, 2 tourney, 1 NCV.

The tourney sets do not have $ signs, so they could be used for .25/.50 or 1/2 if valued in cents. I suppose the cash sets would work for tourneys with 1/2 starting blinds, too, but that sort of thing is widely discouraged in these parts.

I have two tournament sets plus a next gen set. None of my vintage casino sets have ever been put in play because my players don't much care for tournaments.

I literally can't count how many cash sets I have. At least ten, but I have some home sets that have never seen the felt so maybe 15-20 sets? All of my playable casino sets are in play a couple of times a year though.

I have three cash and one tournament.

Cash: TRK Kings Crown, Paulson Fan of Cards, Paulson Fabulous Las Vegas (WIP).
    Tournament: BCC Aquasino

None of my poker group players like tournament, so i barely get to use that one as it is.

Four sets designed for cash and seven (soon eight) for tournaments.

While I prefer to play cash, I think tournaments are better for playing with friends who don't really study poker. More luck based short term, and people rarely make the big/costly mistakes that are common to cash (#feelbad).

Also, I can get away with considerably fewer chips for tournament sets, so this way I can have many different kinds of chips for less $$$$ :cigar:

Four cash sets and two NCV sets that can be used for either cash games or tournaments. I've sold both of my good tournament sets (Paulson Pharaoh's and PNYs) and replaced them with a set of China clay Dunes Commemoratives. It's been years since I've hosted a tournament. I figured that if I'm not going to host a tournament, I may as well not host it with less expensive chips.

7 cash sets (8400 total chips). 1 tournament set (400 chips).

    I also have a slight preference :)

Paisanos 001.JPG Reading this thread with envy. I am down to ONE set - labeled casino paulsons. Used mostly for cash but designed to be used for tourneys as well. I guess you could say I "economized". ( I would have more sets if I could afford them.)

I just sold off (or are in the process of selling off) two CPS sets (1 tourney and 1 cash for 3000+ chips).

That'll leave me with 1 tourney set (1400 Milanos) and two cash sets (that's comprised of 3200 Paulsons).

I'm working on a 1200 chip CPC tournament set right now. As much as I like playing with different chips, I always seem to wind up playing my Benny's cash chips. They make me happy.

So, that really negates the need to hold onto chips that'll never see use (disclaimer: this won't stop me from snagging more chips down the road). I'm just being more selective.

Dang: Edited because I forgot I actually have a third set of Paulson cash chipies (700 Par-A-Dice). Ooops, better to forget I had them, than think I had them, when I don't... :)

2 tourney sets (2000 and 1000 chips), 1 large cash set (1000 chips) and 1 small cash set (200 chips).

Downsized a lot during the last two years.
