    Ummm... WOW !!!

T, are those chips in your possession?
If so, keep them close !!!

The 2 chips pictured are from the Cal Neva Lodge in Crystal Bay/Lake Tahoe.
They are both Crest and Seal chips from their 1st issue of chips and aren't very common, as I am sure you were aware.
Here are the book values an rarities of both chips:

    $1 - Lavender - Crest & Seal - R-6 -- $175 / $250 / $350
    $5 - Black - Crest & Seal - R-9 -- $1200 / $1800 / $2400

There are supposedly only around 60 chips of the entire 1st issue, which includes the $1 and $5 chips you show, as well as a $25 chip and various Roulette chips. The $5 chip is the most expensive chip from the series... A fire burned the original casino to the ground in 1937 !!!

    Thanks for sharing.
    Hope the info. helps out.
    :)

From Campiglia & Wells, 4th ed.

Cal Neva Lodge, Crystal Bay, Tahoe
    1st ed (!)

    $1 - 175-250-350
    $5 - 1200-1800-2400

These would be from the late 20s.

    Do you have these??? :yell:

EDIT - R. beat me to it. Same numbers. If I was home, I'd get you the TCR numbers, but I don't usually take TCR to work (too big).

I would imagine there are quite a few collectors of Lake Tahoe chips that don't have and won't ever see another $5 chip for sale for quite some time.
I have seen the $1 before in other's collections, but again very few of them.

I own that $5 Chip. I have had it for about 8 years...and would consider parting with it.
I will be in Vegas in the beginning of March and would be willing to bring it if there is any interest.
    Thanks
    Phil
