I'm curious if anyone here has ever won a bad beat jackpot?

I had a qualifying losing hand, but the winners hand didn't qualify. Got double screwed that time.

Nothing as dramatic as a significant casino BBJ, although I have won a few in our home games ($10/person to a pool, no qualifier, highest losing hand for the session takes the pool).

I got the "at the table" share of $1200 at Luxor once. Half the table was speaking Russian throughout the night and the actual hand, but the floor didn't seem to care...

I was in the Flamingo this past October when some one hit the BBJ and I got a table share. It was $250-$260 ish for every player in the card room (of which there were 30-40).

BBJ winner walked away with $20k or so as I recall. Don't remember what the hands were.

The closest I've ever knowingly came to it was last weekend at the Tulalip. I flopped quad 5's (can't remember last quads playing live before these) and villain flopped a set of 9's. The rest of the board was dry and unconnected and a few other people who had draws and pieces came along for the turn and two people where with me to the river. The pot was pretty nice (for 1-3 fake NL , thanks WA!) and the villain and I got it all in on the river. None of the folded hands at the table could remember a nine being one of there cards so we had two pretty legit shots at him quading up. Tulalip is kind of screwing over it's weekend players right now (no montecarlo payouts fri-sun, all of them are mon-wed, but raking psj the whole weekend of course) so I would love to have hit that. It's only at about 20k or so, but I snap call on losing the $500 pot if I rake $10k.

    Maybe next time.

Closest I've come in a casino was at Caesar's last year on a Sunday morning at 3am when they were running a combined BBJ for all of the Harrah's properties. I don't recall the jackpot amount (seems like it was 300k or some such), but the requirement at the time was quad J's. The table share would have been pretty huge, especially since so few players were playing anywhere on the strip at that time of the morning.

Unfortunately the loser in this hand had quad 9's (lost to quad K's), which I guess isn't that close, but it's the only time I've ever seen quads lose. :)

Sadly, Caesar's doesn't have a BBJP any longer.

The Orleans off strip had one that was around $100,000. Players at $2.$4 limit were eligible so there were a tonne of locals there grinding it out. There was a waiting list of at least 5 hours most days I was there.

I run both an accumulative BBJ and a nightly high hand in my home game. Never won any of them myself. (Odds are someday I will... since I only run two tables)
