Hey Fellas, thanks for the heads up on my previous post. I've reposted the pic of the "Montmartre" chip in the manufacturing process. This Pic is too cool--thanks Michael for sending the pron. I will post more pics as they come in.

Michael, I bet you smile every time you see this thread get bumped. We do, too. It's almost like the chip version of an ultrasound.

This set of images shows how much of a color change occurs during the compression/heating/curing process. When first put together, the blue looks like a dull bluish gray... when finished... it punches you in the face... Bam!

Its also a different batch and completely different cameras, lighting, setting, etc. The difference isn't really that dramatic.

I have recieved the SHIPPING email...yippee...

I also received this picture, too. What's cool about these pictures is we get more insight into how these chips are made. As you can tell, there are chips that don't make it out to us...inlays and even total spots that get squeezed out...VERY COOL!!!!

    Thanks for sharing!

That'd be cool if michael sent some of those jacked up chips.

I have one from a few years back where the inlay is into the mold pattern on my H-mold set (with matching squished spots). I set it aside as a novelty but it is nowhere near as offset as that Everleigh $5 where the entire spot has been shoved off the chip!

Thanks for posting these. I'm eagerly awaiting my first batch of in-progress chip pics to add to the collection here!

Jeff -- if it was my set, I'd be begging MIchael to also send me that rejected $5 chip with offset inlay and squeezed-off spots, as is -- no matter what the cost. Perfect for framing.

Am I the only person reading this thread who wants to order more chips just to get pictures of them in the process of being made?
