After seeing some of the mockups that I was doing for the Krey Plaques, Courage contacted me to work up some Plaques to go with his Argosy tournament set from the now defunct Lawrenceburg Indiana Argosy casino. We tried a number of different color combinations and though this resulted in several really nice looking individual plaques, it wasn't until I put together this two toned effect that the plaques really started to cohere as a set (as well as with the argosy tourney chips that Courage already had). Here is the final design:

    Edit:
Courage asked me to work up some options for the rolling edges of the Argosy Casino Dealer Buttons and here are some of the options I came up with. You will notice that I also added a new version of the Black Dealer Button with solid gold lettering. Comments welcome.

Looking at the 3 different sized plaques, I would assume oldwestpokersupplies will be doing these. Nice design.

colors are still in flux. The plan has been to have these plaques printed by Old West Poker on Ceramic blanks.

Can I politely suggest you randomise the background a little more and also keep the same scale background rather than resizing it, so plaques have 'more' of the background rather than a bigger background. It might be my eyes but also possibly bring the A in Indiana in a pip to sit directly under the No Cash Value.

However they rock Erik, be interesting to see how vibrant the printing comes out. More great work.

p.s. Bantam club stickers no arrived yet - will let you know when they do.

These are beautiful. My first thought was blue or blue-ish for the T25k. Royal blue base maybe?

Has anyone seen the ceramic plaques from OWPS? I have not and I'd like to see a sample.

Actually, I should have asked... Can I get in on this order? :cigar:

    All,

I'm hellabusy at work today but will check in soon. These will be Old West ceramics for sure, I'm hoping on the 3 smallest sizes. Colors are still in flux somewhat although I think the yellow is a lock. A blue was mocked up previously, but I'll try to get with Erik to work up an another set. 5k chips are very hard to come by, and I think that affects colors and values:

Denoms will likely change to 5k, 25k, 100k. I've paid Erik for design but am sure open to sharing or a mini-GB.

/edit: btw, they're looking great. Thanks, Erik!

Subscribing and interested in ordering some. I do like the $10,000 so I hope that stays around in some form.

    Thanks for putting this together!

    Uh, This ^^

Just when I was about to sell my Argosy's too. If these go Matsui, I wouldn't possibly be able to resist. Ceramic - meh, still cool, but. . .

fWIW, I think 3 different sizes is cumbersome. 2 at most with the larger being the absolute highest denom.

    Re: Argosy Plaque Design

    Here's the latest:

A couple of you have contacted me with great advice, and I appreciate it. I'm pretty much a rookie at GB's and plaques, but I am willing to share this process if Salvatore and ttttubby approve.

    GB
I've written Salvatore about an extension on the price and running this GB for a couple weeks or a month. I'd rather not do shipping, so hoping he is willing to process orders. We need to agree on colors, and I think we can get there.

Matsui? I've never had the pleasure of fondling one, so my life is not complete, but I doubt they are available at $4/plaque. I'm trying to wrap this up quickly to honor this offer:
    http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/oldwe...543-4th-july-independence-days-sale-owps.html

My goal for the design was something simple and complementary to the great Argosy chips and to extend the set somewhat since upper denom chips for me are thin.

There is the perennial debate regarding the need for a 10k plaque, so I'm hoping we can do both a 5k and a 10k and buyers can decide. So a total of 4 denoms, the 5k and 10k = 68mm, the 25k = 82mm, the 100k = 94mm.

    Colors
Edges will be done in the outer (not center stripe) color. I'm using mostly BCC colors for sake of reference.
I like the current colors, but I think I will jettison the green. It's a great individual plaque but a little too "dollar bill" and T25 chip-ish I suppose.

I'm proposing two mockups if Erik would be so kind as to replace the OP (I suspect he'll see this but if not, I'll email it off):

    option #1
5k = the current yellow plaque
10k = Horizon blue, Sky blue center
25k = blood red, salmon center
100k = current purple plaque but lighten the purple a shade or two

    option #2
    5k = gray, black center
10k = horizon blue, sky blue center
    25k = current yellow plaque
100k = current purple plaque but lighten the purple a shade or two

The blood red plaque may not work well with the red denoms and starburst but we'll see. I'm not really willing to change those as I think they look sweet and add consistency.

The gray/black 5k may look a tad boring and match the chips too well, but I'm hoping with the black center it will be distinguished from the blue 10k.

I'd be willing to consider a pink one but I favor other choices. I had a chocolate mocked up previously and it didn't do it for me. There are not lots of other combos left, but feel free to make suggestions and chime in on these choices.

    Thanks, all!

I have a sample set. Drive on down and check 'em out, lol  The feel seems great (I have only the Formal plaques from holdempokerchips to compare). It's hard to imagine design-wise since the OWPS printed samples are much different than these.

    Of course you're in!

Salvatore, thanks for working with us on getting this together with an extension on timeline.

Erik will likely post additional color options here Thursday. Then we can do some fine tuning and debate plaque sizes. :)

    Thanks, all!

the replication of the background stands out for me esp in the purple and the green plaque to a lessor extent.

    *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap*

Great work, Erik! Thanks for posting these.

I'm having a tough time choosing between A and B. The gray/black 5k turned out even better than I'd hoped.

Let's hear feedback on these. Only thing I can see to possibly tweak is a more pinkish center for the red plaque. The salmon looks a bit gold, but it may be me. Let's hear from others on these.

    Wonderful stuff. Thank you.

I like option B but I'd like it more with a red 10k. I'm not as enamored with the light blue as I am with the red. Red always turns out so good on these ceramics. And I love the gray plaque.

    Nice work.

Or the red could become the 100k in option B.

    Problem = I love all 5 colors.
