That makes some sense. It does appear none of the newer chips have been cancelled.

Thanks! I have more just haven't been keeping up with my scanning. I'll try to get my BJ sample up this week.

I would agreed with the notched theory, they may have made the sample to show the clients what the color combo would look like so they notch them.

As for the drilled samples, my guess would be for key chains they would hand out as sample/souvenir at shows. I have a small plaque that's drilled, it had a key chain attached to it which I removed for the scan. Also if you look at my hotstamp samples, there are 6 that are drilled, these are actually color samples. On the other side is stamped with the color name. Here's a set that I've seen, I don't own it so not sure if the colors are on the back. I would guess the saleman carry this set around to show the colors.

Bump to an old thread.. its been a little too quiet around here so i thought i'd catch up on posting some of my sample chips.

I was excited to get a HHL Rice Sample. The L mold was used mostly in Calif., I think.

    [IMG][IMG]

Also, i have this diecut TR king that looks way better in person than my scan. Plus who can resist a small crown with moon spots?:)

    [IMG][IMG]

A couple of bud jones, one has a strange surface, maybe to improve grip?

It would appear that at some time ACES added the TCS to their name, at least for Casino Chips.

as of early 2014 it seems Dolphin has stopped manufacturing casino chips and equipment on Australian soil. I am gathering Australian casinos are now sourcing Dolphin from Asia.

Until very recently I had only ever seen a handful of Dolphin plastics samples out of Melbourne and only owned two. This is them, both chips the same each side.
Dolphin ND v1.jpg Dolphin ND v2.jpg

The last time I had seen any for sale was on ebay some 7 years ago and then only a handful of chips. But years later I was lucky enough to score this lot off ebay in just the last few months!

The bulk lot as shown on ebay......

Thanks for posting, Moose and Suited! Love all of them. :)

Also thanks for sharing the Aussie samples. I haven't seen many of those before. The Kiwiw plaque is very cool.

I got a hold of these on my quest to obtain 1 chip on each mold. Reverse side of these Wills Super Gem samples has the different weights available.
