    INTRODUCTION

Hello and welcome to Seasons 1a and 1b of the 2019 WSOP Satellite Series. The purpose of this tournament series is to satellite its winner(s) into a 2019 WSOP bracelet event in Las Vegas, Nevada. The total league cost is $250 per league, which is due in full before you play in either series. Satellite Series 1a will begin on THURSDAY, September 13th, 2018, and conclude on THURSDAY, December 6th, 2018 (skipping Thursday, November 22nd, 2018 due to Thanksgiving). Series 1b will begin on SUNDAY, September 16th, 2018, and conclude on SUNDAY, December 2nd, 2018.

This series will be comprised of 12 weekly tournaments and be hosted online through the PokerStars Home Game platform, which is available to players worldwide (including USA players). You do NOT need a real money account balance on PokerStars, as the tournament series will be conducted using a play chip buy-in. Players may participate in one or both leagues. The tournaments will be held every THURSDAY and SUNDAY at 8:30 p.m. ET (7:30 p.m. CT / 5:30 p.m. PT).

Please note that included in the $250 league cost is a $10 administration fee (4% of the league cost per person) to compensate the league administrator for the time and effort involved in organizing, running, and managing all aspects of the league. This means that the remaining $240 (or 96% of the league cost per person) will be used to establish the league prize pool.

Points will be awarded for a player's finish in each tournament, and a player's best ten (10) results will be used to establish their total score for prize distribution at the end of the tournament series. One WSOP prize package will be awarded for every 10 participants in the league (11 players minimum required for a league to run). The overall winner of the league (the player with the highest total score at the end of the season) will receive a $2,500 WSOP prize package. The $2,500 prize package will be comprised of $1,500 to be used toward a $1,500 to $3,000 WSOP bracelet event of the winner's choice and $1,000 intended for travel or other discretionary use. Other winners will each receive a $2,000 to $2,200 WSOP prize package (depending on the size of the league). These prize packages will be comprised of $1,500 to be used toward a $1,500 to $3,000 WSOP bracelet event of the winner's choice and $500 to $700 intended for travel or other discretionary use. Remainder funds in the prize pool will be redistributed back to the players in some form to be decided by the league administrator, based on the number of total entries, and with the intent of maintaining participation and the integrity of play throughout the entirety of the season.

Should the winner(s) of the WSOP prize package(s) from this league go on to cash in the WSOP event that they play using the stake awarded from this league, that resulting cash will be split with the remainder of the league members. The split in all $1,500 WSOP bracelet events will be on a 50%/50% basis between the player and remaining league members, and adjusted on a pro-rata basis for WSOP bracelet events with buy-ins above $1,500 and up to $3,000.

Please note that the league administrator reserves the right to make changes as needed for the good of the league. By playing in this league, you agree to the following rules and any rulings made by the administrator. All rulings made by the administrator will be considered final. The administrator will be maintaining a leaderboard which will be updated weekly after each event.

    RULES
    1. The administrator is Brian Benda (ChipTalk = bpbenda / PokerStars = bpbenda).
    2. Payment of $250 is due IN FULL before the start of your first tournament.
    3. Once a player's league payment has been received in full, they will be sent an email invitation to the 2019 WSOP Satellite Series.
    4. Tournaments will be hosted using the PokerStars Home Game platform and will be played using free play chips. If you do not already have the PokerStars software installed on your computer, please go to their website and download it. You will need a PokerStars username. You can use an old one (if you have one and can remember it) or create a new one, it doesn't matter. Players from every country are welcome to participate (including the USA).
    5. Weekly tournaments will be Thursdays and Sundays at 8:30 p.m. ET (7:30 p.m. CT / 5:30 p.m. PT).
    6. Once paid up and in the league, it is your responsibility as the player to register yourself every week for the upcoming tournament. If you cannot register in advance, late registration will extend 10 minutes past the start of every tournament.
    7. Registering for a tournament and never showing up (or "sitting out") is, in the interest of fair play, highly discouraged. It is understood that some players may be late every once in a while, but if you cannot begin playing within approximately 30-45 min of the start of the tournament then you should not register for that week. If repeated offenses occur, the league administrator may choose to remove the player from the league WITHOUT a refund. Substitute players are welcome, but they must play under the username of the registered league member. The league administrator must be notified in advance of each weekly tournament of any substitute players being utilized. Player teams must also declare who is playing on their account each week. It is the responsibility of each league participant to notify the league administrator of their substitutions, providing the full real name of the substitute player. The league administrator will subsequently notify the league after the start of each tournament of substitute and appointed team players being used that week.
    8. Points will be awarded to every player participating in a tournament based on their place of finish and the number of entries in that given tournament.
    9. Players will use their best 10/12 scores to accumulate their total score.
    10. At the conclusion of the last tournament, one (1) WSOP Prize Package will be distributed for every ten (10) participants in the league. The prize package for the winner with the highest total score will consist of $1,500 intended to be used toward a bracelet event buy-in at the 2019 WSOP in Las Vegas, Nevada, and $1,000 for travel or other discretionary purposes. The prize package for all other winners will consist of $1,500 intended to be used toward a bracelet event buy-in at the 2019 WSOP in Las Vegas, Nevada, and $500 to $700 for travel or other discretionary purposes.
    11. Player(s) winning a prize package are responsible for procuring their own travel and hotel accommodations. If the travel or discretionary stipend does not cover all of their travel related expenses, they are expected to make-up the difference and will NOT be reimbursed for such.
    12. The buy-in portion of the WSOP Prize Package may be used for entry into any $1,500 to $3,000 bracelet event at the 2019 WSOP in Las Vegas, Nevada.
    13. The winning player(s) must decide and confirm with the league administrator by May 31st, 2019, which WSOP event they will play, or they forfeit their package.
    14. If a player winning a prize package cannot attend the 2019 WSOP in Las Vegas, Nevada, then the player with the next highest total points score who did not win a package will be awarded the prize package. To avoid this dilemma, please do not participate in this league if you will not be available to travel to Las Vegas for 3-5 days sometime between the end of May and the first week of July 2019.
    15. Once the winning player(s) decides on and informs the league administrator of the WSOP event in which they will participate, the league administrator will send them the value of their prize package via PayPal, check, or other traceable payment method (not cash). The league administrator will then inform the league what event(s) the winning player(s) will be playing.
    16. A player who subsequently cashes in the WSOP event for which they used their prize package buy-in to enter, will split their total WSOP tournament cash with the remainder of the league members (not including him/herself). The split in all $1,500 WSOP bracelet events will be on a 50%/50% basis between the player and the remaining league members, and adjusted on a pro-rata basis for WSOP bracelet events with buy-ins above $1,500 and up to $3,000.
      (a) For instance, if a player playing on a 50% (player) / 50% (league) split cashes for $250,000, the player will be entitled to 50% of that cash (or $125,000). The other 50% of that cash (or $125,000) will be split among the remainder of the league participants. So, if there are 21 total league participants (including the player), the league's share of the cash would be split equally among the other 20 players (meaning each would be entitled to receive $6,250).
      (b) For instance, if a player decides to play a $3,000 WSOP bracelet event on a single league package ($1,500 league stake), the pro-rata split would be 75% (player) / 25% (league). This is because the league would have a 50% stake of $1,500, or a 25% stake of $3,000 (assuming the difference in buy-in is made up from the payer's pocket). If a player playing on a 75% (player) / 25% (league) split cashes for $250,000, the player will be entitled to 75% of that cash (or $187,500). The other 25% of that cash (or $62,500) will be split among the remainder of the league participants. So, if there are 21 total league participants (including the player), the league's share of the cash would be split equally among the other 20 players (meaning each would be entitled to receive $3,125).
    17. If a player cashes in the WSOP event for which they used their prize package buy-in to enter, they are required to pay the other league members in full and in a timely manner (60 days max).
    18. All payouts to other league members are to be based on PRE-TAX figures. A player who cashes in the WSOP event is responsible for distributing payouts to the other members in the league and sending them the appropriate tax forms for their share of the winnings.
    19. Any sponsorship money offered to a winner of this satellite league will not be considered part of the tournament cash or prize money to be shared with the other members of this league.
    20. Remainder funds in the prize pool will be redistributed back to the players in some form to be decided by the league administrator, based on the number of total entries, and with the intent of maintaining participation and the integrity of play throughout the entirety of the season.

    PAYMENT INFORMATION

The fastest and most secure way of making payment is via PayPal. However, there are several things that you ABSOLUTELY MUST DO in order to pay using PayPal. Each of these steps are VERY important:
    1. When sending money, PLEASE select "Send money to friends or family". If you do not select this, PayPal will charge me a fee for receiving your payment, and you will then have to send me more money to cover that fee. Send as "friends or family".
    2. Send $250 to "bpbenda@gmail.com" or just click http://paypal.me/bpbenda/250, but DO NOT check the box that says "Paying for a good or service?".
    3. If PayPal shows that they are going to charge you a fee, because you are using a credit card or for any other reason, please make sure that YOU cover the fee on your end. The league administrator needs to receive EXACTLY $250. If the league administrator does not receive EXACTLY $250 from you, you will then have to send them more money to cover the fee.
    4. In the optional notes section, please ONLY put your full real name, ChipTalk username (if you have one), PokerStars username, email address, and what league day you want to play this season. So, for instance: "First Last, ctname, psname, name@domain.com, Sundays". DO NOT put the word "PokerStars" or "poker" or any other poker or gambling related word(s) in the notes section. PayPal has an automated system that searches for words that could indicate a prohibited transaction, and using these words will flag the transaction and potentially suspend both of our accounts.
If you would rather send me a check or use another electronic payment method, please PM me for instructions. Also, please make sure that I will receive it BEFORE the start of the first tournament.
