The Desert Palms Compression Molded Chips have arrived!!
The chips have arrived and are expected to clear customs on Monday and arrive at The Chip Room warehouse on Wednesday, March 4th. The chips will retail for $.39, but we offering our friends at chiptalk first dibbs at $.32/chip!

Just to add to the disappointment of getting caught for VAT payment.....I am now in posession of my 500 piece DP tourney set One slight problem... Can you guess what it is? Needless to say I'm one unhappy bunny at the moment . Don't want to say too much more until I've contacted Jim to see what he can do for me.

I have 700 for now, will probably add another 100 here soon to make my racks even (even though I might not need them), and maybe another 100 quarters just in case I get 2 tables running.

I think Ridgy ordered a 500 piece tourney set and only got 100's (not intentionally). I am pretty sure Jim will get that taken care of pretty quickly.

Good luck if you order them, as I do love my chips.

Nope, I ordered 100,500,1000,5000 or at least I thought I had!

It seems I only selected one chip denomination from the menu. I DID put my preferred chip breakdown on the Paypal invoice though but seems nobody noticed it.

I'm a little deflated though as I was so looking forward to getting these and wanted to use them for the game this coming weekend.

Hopefully between Jim and I we can get this fixed

My DPCM tourney set arrived today - no pictures yet, but here are my initial impressions:

The Good:
- The chips are just what I expected and what others have reported. They look good, feel great, and stack amazingly high. I can easily stack 100 on my desk, 40 on my table (too much padding under the felt, no fault of the chips). I think once the players in my home game see these, I'll be hosting a LOT more often.
- Everything was packed securely and shipped lightning-fast. I ordered on Thursday, Jim shipped on Friday, and they arrived today.
- I also ordered racks. They were inexpensive, look good, and fit the chips perfectly.

The Bad:
- A single bundle of 25 chips (denom $25) is significantly thicker than the rest, and I cannot fit 20 of them in a rack. I believe this is an isolated problem, as the other 820 chips (5 denoms) are identical in thickness and rack just fine.

The Ugly:
- I ordered two 500-count DP logo cases to hold my set. In both of my cases, the outer rows are too narrow. With significant pressure, I can probably get about 30 chips in each, but I won't do this because I'm concerned about damaging my chips. This problem effectively makes these 400-count cases, so I'm going to have to return them. I don't know if this is a design flaw or if I just got unlucky twice.

I'm sending Jim an email tonight about the two minor issues above. That said, these chips rock, and I cannot wait to get them in the game.
