Re: Sun-Fly's 43mm design competition (ends 27-05-08)

This is very difficult. Only one vote for so many great designs. I am glad tha I have a few days, because I will have to really think about this one!

Fantastic job everyone! I would be happy to own any one of these designs!

Shane

This decision is even tougher than the 39mm contest. It's too bad we can't do Gold, Silver, & Bronze. Anyway, nice job to all the designers!

Something smells a little fishy with this poll. Of the 16 votes currently cast for CKoi7Arnak's design, 10 of those voters have never posted on this fourm before, 3 with 1 post and one with 3.

Yeah didn't that happen in the last sun-fly competition?
the current contest poll being run by Dicecaller (for PI labels) should be the standard for these contests. he set some stringent rules to prevent this type of thing.

Perhaps he's just rallying his "lurker" friends to his cause? Not really the point of this sort of thing, but I would be hard pressed to fault friends for being loyal.

I am trying to stay positive. So far, however, at least half of the competitions I have entered or observed have involved some sort of tampering or under-handedness. If anyone is thinking about trying anything like that they would do well to remember the last SunFly competition where ALL the designs were made available in the group buy ... except for the one guy who cheated, who not only didn't win but did not even get the opportunity to purchase his set at the GREAT group buy rate that was offered.

Food for thought ...

EDIT : It's also fair to note ... that of all the ATTEMPTS to cheat I have witnessed, it does not appear that ANY of them succeeded.

Keep Smiling and Good Luck to everyone!!

More important than number of messages is join date, imho. Have a look at that before shouting "cheat" ! One may not be very talkative or, like myself, find all the info he needs by only reading, and still be entitled to vote , I believe !

Anyway, good luck to all competitors, and may the best design win

Re: Sun-Fly's 43mm design competition (ends 27-05-08)

i dunno if im supposed to vote on these polls but i have to vote for the ones i like the best...
not the easiest thing to do... so many good designs.
this time i voted for garyon.
nice design.

not that its my poll... but when people that have never posted on the board at all are voting... looks a bit iffy to me.
bad thing is, i like that design, but how can i vote for it when something like that is going on? not my fave might have been 2nd or 3rd fave... but come-on...

Only a couple of people that have voted for the top design are really new members. Certainly folks that are not frequent posters should still be able to participate; otherwise, what's the point of belonging to the community? People should be encouraged to participate in whatever activities are going on, so that they feel like they're part of chiptalk.

Re: Sun-Fly's 43mm design competition (ends 27-05-08)

hop hop hop ...
Sorry but just an answer about those whose talking about some possible cheating...
I'm not a cheater and I don't pay anybody to vote for me
That's just a french poker community that help one of them. Some guys are registered since a long time on CT the others not (it's true) but they're all poker players since a long time. And they like chips like everybody there.
But like I said, I don't pay anybody and they voted normally for the chips they like. (yes it could be strange that's mine. Perhaps because I have some of their family members - that's what we call French-Connection ?? )
They voted for this contest only because one of them is in.

But to be fair-play you can remove any votes that not fit the rules like wrote by DiceCaller for the PI contest or if that disturbs whoever.
I don't want to disturb anybody.

Regards,
Joel.
