Re: Sun-Fly's 43mm Design Competition

Here's a quick update. made a few minor changes and added a flip side.
still not too sure about the print-ability of the edges and some other components.

Re: Sun-Fly's 43mm Design Competition

Changed the colors:

I'm not sure how things are gonna turn out after the conversion to CMYK. In any case, I've submitted this set to Martin for prototyping.

I guess if he specifically wants only 6 chips, I'd toss the NCV and the 100k chip. (I think the 25 chip is too useful to toss!)

Re: Sun-Fly's 43mm Design Competition

OK. I'm having a hard time deciding on which design of mine I would like to see as prototypes. I know compared to the other designers, they are pretty simple, but I don't have Illustrator, or else they would be more dynamic. Anyway, I have fixed the edgespots on both designs, and tweaked "The Suits" designs some (namely the 25 and 25000 chips).

Just want to know which I should submit for prototypes. Suggestions?

Re: Sun-Fly's 43mm Design Competition

Some updates ... added a 3D Embossed look to the flourish inlay - not sure that I like it. Also added green and orange. The orange may be too much like the red. I have some ideas on how to address it though.

I have not locked down the denominations yet either. I have a post up and have been getting some ideas ...

VERY frustrating working with CMYK though. It's so much easier to get really rich colors in RGB.

Wanted to add too, that I was really digging the designs. Feen, ckoi7arnak, TurnerProfit, SpeckSynder, are all designs that particularly jump out at me. I really liked iznogoods' start as well. I Hope that he finishes the set. I would love to see where it goes. All in all another very admirable field of designs ... Watching the design and progress has to be the best part!!

I think the 3D look brings something very nice to the design. I think it works well.

Handsomepants1, I'm leaning towards the tux room. It May just be a coincidence that I am picking up a tux today, but I like 'em.

JMC, definitely digging the new colors.

(Nice work getting done on the night shift lol)

These designs are really heating up. And we still have 11 more days...I'll say it again, I'd sure be nice for the designers to get a set of each prototypes..

Re: Sun-Fly's 43mm Design Competition

OK ... last updates for a today ...
I have removed the green and the orange and included a white no-value tournament chip. I have also added on some of the chips an 'edgespot' design by blacking out some of the small circles in the inner ring. I have also lightened the colors a bit, anticipating that they will darken somewhat when printed onto the chips, although it occurs to me that I need to lighten the edge color for the blue chip some more.

With help from responses to the post I made I have decided upon the following denominations ...

1,000
5,000,
25,000
100,000
250,000
Non-Denom - can be used as either high or low chip.

Re: Sun-Fly's 43mm Design Competition

Gary, those look very nice!

Is one of your edge spots slightly bigger than the others? (see the bottom edge of your 25k and 50k chips)

My new changes:
- Withdrawal of the 25 chip
- addition of a space to separate the thousands
- 10K became 25K
- New chip : 100K
- Dealer button
