This one (The Spelling Cow) pops up a window from the other server, and has ads on it. It's slow sometimes, I hate that.
The new one is hosted locally, and has no ads. I was hoping that it would be faster, and I could have a global dictionary to add words like VARoadster, TenPercenter, Chipco and Matsui. |

. | This is why I put rarely. The few times I've used it took me more time than I'm normally patient enough to wait for new windows to pop up. |

| | Never, for two reasons: - Spelling is one of the few things I am actually good at.
- The offsite spell checker is a PITA to use--the couple of times I tried it out, it was too obtrusive and time-consuming, and we use so much lingo and acronyms here which really slows it down.
Also, it may be not worth too much effort on your part, Ten, because it seems the people who need it most, don't/won't use it anyway. Obviously, they either think that they are spelling things correctly, or simply don't care! The truly insane believe themselves sane.
Now what I would like to see, is a spell-checker that completely blocks you from posting unless all spelling/grammar is correct! Heh! No more "ect." instead of "etc.", no more homonym errors--just sheer, beautiful, perfection-in-posting! |
