Comment on our "Lead Story"

I get that this site is only possible through the various revenue-generating streams that support it (membership, sponsorship, links, M2M, etc.), and I'm certainly not complaining. And I understand the rationale for promoting the "new" Pharaoh's Club poker chips on the home page (a partnership between TenPercenter and Jim, I presume), but it's been more than a year now since that story "broke," and I'm just curious if there are any plans to ever change it to something more current and relevant to the membership at large? It just seems like a full page ad to me. As a paying member, I'd like to see that space used for something more interesting. That's all.

I agree, I'd like to see a home/start page with "most read thread last day", most searched word, hot topics and similar sections.

Re: Comment on our "Lead Story"

You are are lucky I looked at this --I thought it was going to be another dreaded lead-in-my-chips discussion.

I have to admit I ignore the home page and immediately hit quick links.
My stored shortcut opens the user control panel and if i dont have it stored i just wiz past the main page.
I think the front page serves more as a lead-in for potential new members,
but the news on it is old, you see the dates (2008,09,10), and may give a wrong impresssion seeing about the site seeing that.

The home page does look a little worn out.

To someone browsing links, the site might look to be abandoned and they could miss all the greatness that lies within.

I'd add some fresh Pron from all of the great designs being generated by the members to this list.

Cheap Chinese chips being paraded as clays, be payin' the bills and keeping the lights on round here.

Whatever it takes I say.

+1

It's a little funny though. All the awesomeness that is on this site with regards to playable casino sets, the best home sets and the knowledge the membership has here but the gateway to the site is china clays like hundreds of other sites slinging china clays as "real clay" chips... But if it sells some chips so we can keep on keeping on, I have no issue with it.

Re: Comment on our "Lead Story"

I agree that the threads on the front page should be kept current, and I see the need to position the Pharaohs there to generate a revenue stream. I say keep the Pharaohs there and add the current top ten posts with the most hits to keep the page fresh.

Re: Comment on our "Lead Story"

I'd love to see pics of the calendar choices changed each month on the home page....Not all of them but just a couple at a time.

But, it takes money to keep us up and running, and if China Clay Pharaoh's are helping out, good for us....

I have a friend that has a 600 chip playable set of CC Pharaoh's and loves them - so it's not like they are total crap. I just played there last night and had a very enjoyable time.
