Chips: 12,759 | | | Problems with "New Posts" Ever since the changeover I keep having random posts show up in the "New Post" search list which do not have anything new in them. I would estimate about 10% or so of the posts returned when I select this option would fall into this category.
Has anyone else noticed this?

Has anyone else noticed this? | I am having the same problem.
It might explain why some ancient threads are being posted in again. |

When someone votes in the poll, the thread is "updated", even though no message is added to the thread. I think this is a "feature" of vBulletin that may or may not be fixable in the admin control panel. It happens on many vBulletin bboards I frequent. |

We will just have to learn how to work with the new system. I also do not see us going to 3.5. It was a lot of work to get to here.

Chips: 951 | | | Re: Problems with "New Posts" i've also noticed that, if i am on the site for a while, some of the posts that were previously under the "new posts" search are eliminated whether i've read them or not (and w/out logging out and then signing back on). what is the time frame that is given to consider a post still a "new post"? i really liked the feature "view posts since last visit" from the old board where it shows all new posts since your last visit and only eliminates posts from the list when you log out. is there a way to do that on here? (i looked under the ucp but couldn't find anything).
thanks |

thanks | This is a forum wide setting that may have an effect.
This is the time in seconds that a user must remain inactive before any unread posts are marked read. This setting also controls how long a user will remain on Who's Online after their last activity.
Right now it is 900 (15 min.)

Right now it is 900 (15 min.) | ok that makes sense. my problem is that i am on pretty much all day, but there are often periods of time where i would be considered inactive. i really like the new setup here already! good job X and Ten and everyone else involved!!! |

I believe that most, if not all, of the "new posts" that don't appear to have been updated that show up in the new posts list have polls in them. Quote: |
