I need help with an Avatar. I'm trying to put in a shot of the Giant Squid like this one:



It keeps giving me a 'image is larger than 80x80 pixels. I've scaled it down a bunch of times with MS paint but I have no idea how many pixels it is. In the latest format it's only 3kB which is much smaller than some others on the site! How do I fix this?

Hrm - can I edit posts without it saying that there was an edit? I corrected a spelling error but now I'm just checking...

{edit #2} - I don't want to say that this is "bad", but in the situation that someone edits a M2M sale post or something and changes the price that would be bad...

Try this. The height and width BOTH have to be 80px or less.

I still have no idea what size my attempts were but I'll chalk it up to MS Paint =! image editor. Thanks.

Right click & properties... that image is (was) 109px x 86px

You can only edit you own posts not a post from someone else unless you have been given the right to edit others posts.

Help is there still a way to have an animated avatar, can't seem to get it to work ? usta could !

Yes, you can have an animated avatar.

I'm guessing you needed to resize your avatar for the new site?

If you're working with an animated gif, you need to open it up in a program that can handle animated gifs (ie. Adobe Imageready), and resize it there, or you may loose the animation on the image.
