Poker Chip Video Contest

Sidepot Gaming Company is hosting a poker chip video contest with a top prize worth over $500. Contest video submissions must be on the topic of poker chips - chip tricks, chip comparisons, or anything related to the topic of poker chips. Get creative.

Entering is as Easy as 1, 2, 3...

2. Upload to YouTube.com
3. Email us a link

Complete Submission Rules

• Submissions must be in video format and uploaded to YouTube.com. Once uploaded to YouTube, test that everything displays properly and then email us a link.
• Chip videos must feature our Paulson Noir, Protégé Clay, Archetype Casino, InPlay Clay, or Modern Clay chips. Other chips may be included for comparison purposes.
• Videos must have a small persistent text overlay at the bottom right indicating the brand of chips used in the video (Archetype, Protégé, etc.) and also the text “BuyPokerChips.com”.
• Maximum of 3 video submissions per individual
• Ideally, videos will be 2-3 minutes in length. Submissions over 5 minutes are ineligible.
• Tone of video can be entertaining, instructional, or of an infomercial variety.
• Topics of video must be poker chips (tricks, reviews, or just poker chips in general).
• Submissions will be accepted thru Friday, February 29th, 2008. (NOTE: Deadline was extended from the 15th)

Free 10-Chip Sample Offer

Interested poker chip video contestants can get a free 10-chip sample of their preferred Sidepot Gaming chip line. To qualify, simply purchase a 10-chip sample pack thru the BuyPokerchips.com site, and state your desired mix of denominations in the shipping notes during checkout (i.e. half $5 red, half $100 black). Get your chips, produce your video (a 90-second minimum length is required to qualify for the free sample pack), and upload it to YouTube. Email us a link to your uploaded video with a note referencing this free offer, and we’ll reimburse you the full $19.95 purchase price.

Selection of Winner

• Links to all contest entries will be collected on BuyPokerChips.com, and unveiled in mid-February.
• The winning submission will be voted on by visitors to the BuyPokerChips.com website.
• If there are sufficient entries (as judged by Sidepot Gaming), we may introduce voting sub-categories such as, “Most entertaining”, “Best instructional”, “Best Cinematography”, “Best Actress”, etc. and hold a vote to determine the winning entry in each category.

Prizes

• The winner will get a set of 500 chips of the brand used in his/her video submission – a retail value of over $500.
• If there are sufficient entries, and at the discretion of Sidepot Gaming, additional prizes in the value of $100-$200 may be offered for sub-category winners.

OK, I'm not a cinematographer, but just how does one do a text overlay?

Ya know, I'm not really sure, but I imagine it can be done with an film editing program. I've toyed around with Studio 8, and everything seemed pretty user friendly, so I think it's just a matter of going in there and playing around. If you can't figure out the text overlay, you coud do and introduction frame with text on it, and maybe a closing frame as well.

Windows movie maker is the only program I have.
They have help files to show how to add titles.
I wil be making my entry tomorrow.

I still need to work on the subtitle, so that is not my entry, yet.
But it is cute.
