Re: Special Offer "Tournament Poker Chips"

I would be interested, and I think you could tweak some colors to make it even closer to the real thing. It would be nice to get some weighted dayglo colors too for the 1k-5k-25k.

I wouldn't be able to get in on this, but you might want to rething the Weighted DG colors. The brass really dulls the "Day-Glo" aspect of the colors. Here are some pics from my set which uses several DG colors. (granted, the lighting isn't great, but you can see the difference)

as you can see, the 2 colors with the biggest impact are WDG Peach and WDG Yellow. There is some difference in the green, and not too much in the pink. Of course, retro colors will never be weighted.

Of course, if you are ok with that, so am I.

Mark

Re: Special Offer "Tournament Poker Chips"

If you are going to change colors at all, I would look at changing the base color for the 5K. That was the only thing that bugged me about my set. I know some people didn't like the yellow but it didn't bug me as much as the orange.

I also think think the H-mold is perfect for these. The FDL doesn't really fit with the design for me. Minor nitpicking though, these chips are really great.

About some colors, i think that T25, T5K, T25K ( both versions ), T50K, and T250K are very very aproximated. I have used White for 250K because ASM White is something similar to Almond or Bone white for Paulson.

For T100, Imperial blue is darker than blue horizont, the final contrast is not very good, so light blue is the best option. For T500, the original uses laker purple for the "U" and coral for inside edgespot. T1000 used plum for the U and coral for inside edgespot. So its difficult to make an aproximation under ASM. There are two options, to use the same edgespot configuration on both denoms ( that is what links did ) or use retro lavender for one of them. And original T100K uses lavender or some light purple, so the most aproximate is ASM Lavender for base color.

( just in different way )

Palindrome: For T5K i have used DG Peach for base color.

I personally do not like the H mold at all. The fdl would rock this set. Please do not consider changing the mold. Fdl all the way!

Re: Special Offer "Tournament Poker Chips"

Manz, what base color did you use for the 25K? I thought that DG Peach was used for that chip. Good luck with all the color matching, I'm not really looking to add to my set anyways. I just thought I would mention the orange as the colors you see in the Chip Factory and even in pictures posted online are not very acurate compared to the chips seen in person. Getting the 4v would be pretty sweet too.

Don't change the mold either. I want to see pics of the massive set tonypap is going to put together!

Re: Special Offer "Tournament Poker Chips"

For 25K i have used DG Arc Yellow. DG Peach is almost orange ( similar to Blaze Orange but little less bright )

Re: Special Offer "Tournament Poker Chips"

Have you seen both of these colors in person? The DG Orange that ASM offers is really dark, almost brown. You may want to consider going Orange as a base and DG Orange as your spot color. The original run had DG Peach as the base color for the 10K and I don't think it would turn out as orange as you want it.

Re: Special Offer "Tournament Poker Chips"

Love where this may go here.

Four things I would like to throw out there.

- 5k - go for orange!

- would like dg green on the 25 with retro green and yellow

- would like light blue and retro blue on the 100

- I think the 1k needs to be revisited
