Raymer vs Williams 2004 WSOP - What a Joke!!!

I hope you guys saw the 2004 WSOP on ESPNclassic during the last few days. How the hell did Williams make it to the final table again? Seems like every hand he won, he either had a set, 2 pairs, or got lucky on the river.

He looked like a nervous wreak heads up and basically kept betting despite the pot odds and what not. They showed 2 hands between them. One Williams won because Raymer had nothing. And the other he was dominated didn't even know it. When Williams plays tight, he's very tight, and when loose, he's out of his mind. I was watching some Celebrity vs. Pros match on FSN and Williams did the same thing against some woman. She had top pair K and Williams kept betting until he was broke. I think the only things this guy can read accurately are books.

I would've liked to have seen Josh Arieh in a heads up with Raymer. That might have been more interesting. Arieh is agressive but not stupid. Him laying down a King high Flush to John Murphy's deuce Full at the final table was nothing short of amazing!

Well it does come down to alot of luck, like the saying goes "anyone can be the champ on any givin day"

I agree though he was a disaster waiting to happen and with Gregs chip lead it was only a matter of time.

Greg and Gus would be another good one or the Devil Fish.

He called off his entire stack on the final hand... now that's championship poker... "call, call, call".

That's pretty much how our home games are.
"50"
"Call"
"100"
"Call"
"150"
"Call"
"I got nothin'"
"Full house"

We was 3rd on the money list for last year but he could have had more focus and discipline against such a large stack.
