Ok, maybe "chump" was a little harsh. It is probably those retarded glasses of his and the fact that he tries (maybe not anymore) to sell people fossils in the poker room that brought that out. I don't actually think that anyone who can make the final table at the WSOP is a bad player. He just seemed sort of "flukish" especially after watching him in the TOC. No, I haven't bothered to investigate Greg Raymer's history. I am afraid that I really don't care all that much to be honest and why would I read anything at 2+2 now that chiptalk.net is with us?
The hand in which Raymer was crippled is a good example of why the Main Event is a joke any more. Some moron plays as bad as you possibly can, gets ridiculously lucky, and Raymer's out of the tournament.

Log:...Hand 59 - Ayhan Alsancak has the button in seat 5, and it looks like Kanter limps, Alsancak raises, Ivey calls, and the action after that is unclear.
Before you know it Kanter and Ivey are both all in, with pocket kings (Kc-Ks) for Kanter, and pocket jacks (Jd-Jc) for Ivey. Ivey is the shorter stack, and needs to improve to stay alive in this tournament. The flop comes Kd-8d-4h, and Kanter takes a huge lead with a set of kings. Ivey needs to catch running jacks or running diamonds to stay alive. The turn card is the 10d, and Ivey can win with any diamond. The river card is the 3h, and Phil Ivey is eliminated in 20th place, earning $304,680.
So typical of Phil. He can't lay down pocket pairs. He wasn't pot-commited or anything so I can't understand why he couldn't lay down jacks. It's obvious Kanter raised all-in after someone raised the pot after Phil - so basically 3 people raised Kanter and he still goes all in. That means a high pocket pair.. This should have been an indication to Phil that Kanter's got either Aces, kings, queens, or possibly AKsuited and he was slowplaying them. All 4 of which beats his jacks mathematically.
I would like to get more info on what happened. But it seems like Phil got outplayed that hand and lost due to a stupid move. I was sure he was going to make it to the final table. Tough luck.
