Chips: 17 | | | Damn! Are the updates on cardplayer.com too few and far between for anyone else? Anyone know of another place that has good coverage of the wsop? twoplustwo (can i say that???) has adequate coverage but very hard to trudge through all the unnecessary posts.
edit: Ahhh, some big ones i've been waiting for have come into play today: Mike Matusow, T.J. Cloutier, Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, Howard Lederer, Tom McEvoy, John Juanda, Marcel Luske, Minh "Poker Host" Nguyen ("Poker Host" not "The Master"? Is this a different guy?). Should make for an interesting day. |

Chips: 12 | | | In answer to the OP's question...
From one of cardplayer's updates:
Here are the official numbers as announced by Tournament Director Johnny Grooms:
Total Entries: 5,619
Total Prize Pool: $52,818,600
560 places will get paid
1st Place:$7,500,000
2nd: $4,250,000
3rd: $2,500,000
4th: $2,000,000
5th: $1,750,000
6th: $1,500,000
7th: $1,300,000
8th: $1,150,000
9th: $1,000,000
Last place pays $12,500.
A question, though... 5619 * 10,000 = 56,190,000. Why is the prize pool less than that? They must be taking a registration fee PLUS a cut of the pool! |

I can't get a link for you until later. |
