There's also this new movie in production that may promise to be the next Rounders in terms of what it did for poker's popularity (although it's already pretty popular so.....)

It's called Lucky You.. here's the link to info on it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338216/

It should be good though, it's got Robert Duvall and ever since The Godfather you've gotta love that guy!

I wonder if its modeled after Huck Seed? (A real poker player's name)

I've also read about a rumor that Matt Damon may sign to do a sequel of Rounders. Anyone else confirm this?

Would love to see how he does out in Vegas. Bet Worm would show up and make his life miserable again. And wouldn't be be coincidence if the Teddy-KGB showed up for the tournament and ended up on a final table with Damon. (This time no cookies)

I haven't heard that. I've read rumors, but I believe they are just that. I think it would be a shame to do a sequel on it. After Ocean's Twelve I've had enough of sequels!

Lots of big names, which doesn't always equal quality movies but at least it shouldn't look like it was made in someones garage over the weekend.

For those of us who have not seen many of these listed movies, why don't some of you rank or rate the ones that you have seen. I would like to rent some of the best ones, but probably would never take the time to watch them all.

Of these listed I have only seen:
The Sting
Maverick
Rounders

I am certainly no movie critic, but I will rank and rate them as follows:

1) The Sting - I would rate this movie as about an 8 or 9. This movie is a classic. I have seen it numerous times and enjoyed it each time.
2) Rounders - I would rate this movie at about 7 or 8. In my book that is pretty high. If you are into poker, you gotta love it!
3) Maverick I would rate this movie at about a 4 or 5. Although it has been a while since I have seen it, I remember it as being sort of slow. Not a terrible movie or anything, but sort of average.
