Card Player Magazine or Why is Tom McEvoy So Sour?

I couldn't really find the appropriate forum, so sorry in advance.

Did anyone happen to read the March 12 issue of Card Player Magazine (with Patrick Antonius on the cover)?

I tend not to read magazines in any particular order, and one of the first articles I read was by Bob Ciaffone on "No LImit Poker Pests" (about short stacks) and I kind of thought "Wow, he sounds pretty grumpy." The more he talked about how real poker players have no respect for those who play short, the more short stack play sounded like a fun gamble.

Then I came across Tom McEvoy's "What were they thinking" article. I don't know much about Tom McEvoy, but when I see him on tv he always looks constipated. His whole article effectively a whine about people who drew out on him. He came across as salty and bitter.

I figured there'd be plenty of people here that would have a take on either Ciaffone or McEvoy, and I'm just curious what you'll say.

Re: Card Player Magazine or Why is Tom McEvoy So Sour?

I'm not getting all my magazines these days

But the one guy I hate, well two guys I hate are Steve Zolotow and Cory Zeidman. I absolute hate everything the comes out of their mouth or pen!

BTW, the most recent issue....did anyone notice that they are now taking MUCH BETTER photographs with chips in them?

Tom McEvoy: Hendon Mob Poker Database

2.7 million in winnings over 25 years.

that'd make me grumpy.

As recreational player I subscribe to Cardplayer for the chip pR0n but I thought both articles had good information if you look for it. I'll have to reread some past articles recommending short stack play.

He's pulling in plenty of money in book royalties though. I doubt that Tom's too terribly grumpy about his poker career.
