Poker on TV pretty minimal these days?

Is it just me or are currently telecasted TV poker shows pretty few and far between these days?

Re: Poker on TV pretty minimal these days?

Even the re-runs are sparse.

I have Tivo only recording new shows and it has PAD scheduled next week.

David Williams, Howard Lederer, Mike Matusow, Barry Greenstein, Antonio Esfandari and Eli Elezra are on the schedule.

Oooh, sounds like a winner. I'm looking forward to it. I've been enjoying watching Antonio more and more.

The new WTO is due later this month,
but things have trailed off.

We lost:
Celebrity Poker Showdown
Professional Poker Tour

and I haven't seen
Ultimate Poker Challenge
listed for awhile I assume that's cancled as well.

I really dug PPT. It appears that the bloom is off our poker rose.

Re: Poker on TV pretty minimal these days?

New WPT starts Monday. I think some of the shows with lesser production values have sort of weeded themselves out. What we have left (Poker After Dark, WSOP, WPT, Poker Superstars, Aussie Millions and High Stakes Poker) are the really quality shows, with a combination of good coverage and good production values. Personally, I love watching the Aussie Millions coverage, and am hoping to see it return.

Well, "Cash Poker" continues to hang around these parts (can't stand the show myself). Fulltiltpoker.net (or maybe Aussie Millions, I can't remember which) is starting to show up on my TiVo next week too. I'll check to see which one it is for sure when I go downstairs. BET is also running "Black Poker Stars" that I'm guessing will be a train wreck, though I have it scheduled just to see if it's as bad as "Hip Hop Poker" or not.

Re: Poker on TV pretty minimal these days?

A good show that you can watch anytime is High Stakes Poker on Youtube. They have the whole show and every episode in real good quality, its nice to have it on demand like that. Try to find the one with Sam Farha and Jamie Gold, it seems like a colossal meltdown or a huge show that was supposed to make people think he was crazy at the tables.
