Chips: 904 | | | Who's the worst of the worst of WSOP ME recent winners? I've been watching some WSOP ME reruns of late. Seems to me that Yang, Moneymaker, Gold and Varkonyi are pretty much acknowledged as WSOP main event winners that shouldn't have necessarily won. So sad that they're four of the last six main event winners. Please respond to the poll as to who's the worst of them? You can certainly respond who's the best of the worst too in the thread.
None of them are currently ranked, but then Raymer and Hachem aren't currently ranked either. My vote for worst is Yang. I never thought I would dislike a player as much as Jamie Gold, but I do. Yang makes me nuts. His overbets, his praying at the table, his seemingly complete lack of understanding of the game. Best of the worst is hard to say and I'm still pondering that one.
Will a pro ever win the ME again?

Mr Phil Helmuth Jr has so predicted.. can't find the quote.
It's actually hard to believe Hachem isn't ranked. He's the best of the last
six.
I'm going to predict that the ME field begins to narrow for the next couple of years
and stablizes at about 5000 players. Then the pro players will begin to win again.
My vote for Gold.
Yang was annoying, Gold was just irratating. I have nothing bad to say about
Hachem, Raymer, or Moneymaker. True Moneymaker has been a flop (no pun....ok maybe a rag rainbow flop), but at least he played like he had been there before
and didn't act like a complete dousche bag. (Gold)

Chips: 904 | | | Re: Who's the worst of the worst of WSOP ME recent winners? True enough about Chris. I think that it's a toss-up between Varkonyi and Moneymaker for me as to the best of the worst. I'll take either of them any day over Gold and Yang. Quote:

I am with you him and his praying and chanting and all that! So not the place at a poker table... I dont know all that just came across as BS to me and fake! Its like he knew people would see it so he put on a show so everyone would think he was a good guy! YUCK!!!! I voted gold but the difference between em to me was less than .000000000000000001 percent! |

Quick reasoning: Moneymaker pulled off one of the best bluffs ever seen, Varkonyi got to shave Hellmuth's head , and seems to have a good grasp of the game when I've seem him play other events and, while I truly dislike watching Gold play, he did manage his huge stack very well in his ME win, and he gives lots of $$ to one of my favorite charities. So by a hair, it's Yang. |

If you ask for the worst final table, than it's (luckily I can say it know) last years final table. That Lee childs douche who folded kings and queens face up and that stupid praying stuff, it was just ridiculous.
The 06 final table was actually pretty good.
btw, has anybody seen or heard something for Yang? Guess he'll be the new forgotten champion.
What i like about Varkony is that he doesn't act like a king. He said he was lucky when he won and that he wasn't the best player. And he also seems to be a very kind and polite person and said he's okay with just being in the background. So how can you be mad at him.
Moneymaker is a flop hands down. But he's I guess the reason why I play poker today, period. He also played well during the 03 ME.

But then again I only seen the one time. He did not get any tv time before the final table. I have not seen him play sence then. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
