Chips: 835 | | | How does Chad Brown make so many final tables? Thread title says it all. I just don't get it. He doesn't seem to be a strong player to me and I've rarely (if ever?) seen him win big, but I continue to see him at final tables. Is this guy better than he seems?

From what I've seen on TV he doesn't seem like he's all that great. Obviously he's doing something right to make it to all these FT's though; I think it's darn near impossible to get to a FT on luck alone.

People don't play back at Chad Brown as much as they do other players--and that gives him an advantage. (From what we see on tv) I think that he's very good at sensing weakness, and fearless at exploiting what he perceives to be an edge. He's not afraid to go out, to lose all his chips. I think that the reason he seems like he shouldn't be that good is that sometimes he gets involved in big pots when it seems obvious that he doesn't know where he stands. He gets "rope a doped" a lot. |

He has over 2 million in winnings, so he is at least a consistent money earner, not a lot of firsts, but he does make a living playing poker. Not sure if he gambles at anything else or if he's a winning cash player, but on paper he's a winning tourney player. Cashed a bunch at the WSOP this year(2nd for most cashes), he made almost half a mill in cashes, not too shabby.

Chips: 791 | | | Re: How does Chad Brown make so many final tables? NoFear, I haven't seen him play cash, only tournaments. I wouldn't expect him to be very successful in cash games. I'll check the thread to see what your cash observations are. |

Chips: 835 | | | Re: How does Chad Brown make so many final tables? Chad had an amazing WSOP this year - 8 cashes and placed 11th in Player of the Year standings. He's got 19 WSOP lifetime cashes. He was named Bluff Magazine's 2006 POY. He placed 2nd in the 2007 Heads Up Championship and 2nd in the 2007 World Poker Open. He's also had many other 2nd place tourney finishes in his career - he's often a bridesmaid. EPT cashes in both 2006 and 2007 and a 1st place in the 2006 Pokerstars WCOOP event. Also had a first in the 2004 LA Poker Classic in 7-card stud as well as the 2002 Bellagio Five Diamond Classic in 7-card stud hi/lo. Lifetime tourney earnings exceed $2 million. He's definitely well rounded in various games.
He claims to "have been playing professional poker in the world's biggest cash games for fifteen years."

He dealt at Hustler Casino. Larry Flynt has the biggest 7-Stud game in LA. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
