Chips: 1,310 | | | Last week's airing of the WSOP Main Event I finally got around to watching my recordings of the Main Event episodes from last week. The second hour was best, imho. He may get on your nerves but Negranu makes for good TV. Who knows how often he was actually doing it, but his ability to name the other players' hands was amazing to me.
But I have to say, I wanted to punch out the f-ing ex-dealer seated to his right. I mean, hey, sure, it's great to get a runner-runner flush when our tourney life is on the line but to act like you *outplayed* Negranu on the hand????? That was poor form. He did the same thing when he caught a flush on the river of a SB/BB hand checked down by him and Negranu. Negranu made a straight. He bet, A-hole came ovver the top. Negranu thought and talked about it and laid it down. Once again, ex-dealer acts like he outplayed Negranu. And then he says he had a pair of aces (one came on the flop) the whole time! To his credit, Daniel said words to the effect of, "Well that was some interesting betting [or lack thereof] if you had aces. I don't believe you though."
Not sure what my point is other than that I really enjoyed watching Negranu play. He looses classy and wins classy too. I would've made more than one remark with regard to that all-in flush-on-the-river crap. |

That guy he played against was an idiot...Nothing against dealers, but I feel like most of the ones I have seen play on tv aren't very nice players...they seem bitter or something... |

Negreanu's reads were amazing and yes, that dealer guy was an idiot.

You can watch all sorts of poker shows online.
I am sure they edit the games to show most, if not all, of the hands DN reads, but I enjoy watching him play.
And yes, the ex-dealer was a real D Bag. Pokertube.com – A Video Community for Pokerplayers |

from what i hear, here's how his game works: he calls out your hand every time you play a pot with him. when he's right once every few hours, espn puts that hand on tv so we can all talk about how awesome he is.
now imagine you're you and you have to sit next to negreanu all day. he never shuts up, and calls out guy's hands every 2 minutes hoping to get more tv time (as if he hasn't had 9700 hours on poker tv the last few years).
now tell me that wouldn't get on your nerves.
here's what i saw...
when negreanu raised the dealer when the flush hit, he says "eat some of that." all the dealer did was say "eat some of that" back when he 3bet it, hoping to induce a call (which he did). then he lied about his hand, which is pretty standard practice when you don't show down.
taking into account how bloody annoying DN's got to be, plus the above circumstances of the straight v flush hand, i don't know exactly what the guy did that was so bad.
ps: negreanu's call was awful, imo. it's exactly what DN's problem has always been on HSP. he knows he's beat, but can't stand to not see it for himself. |

If I remember right, the ex-dealer also mocked DN by singing eye of the tiger after that or one of the pots he played against him in, when it seemed that DN had been singing that and talking about it all in fun.
I'm obviously not there in person and for every hand, so maybe DN's tone is meaner that it seems. But every time I watch DN, he seems to have a very nice, fun, joking tone to his "talk".
I still think the ex-dealer acted like a jerk...that is my opinion of course, based on how I perceived the events. Quote:
