What does this tell us? Well, the only significant changes I see are decreases in Pot Limit, Limit, and Stud games, and slight increases in most NLHE (and a big increase in the shoot-out event). I wonder if a lot of players have decided to go for the more glamorous NLHE events. I have a feeling there'll be a large increase in the main event again this year... perhaps $10k is getting to be more affordable, and players would rather save up for the big one than play several of the smaller events. We'll have to wait and see. |

Chips: 1,710 | | | Re: WSOP attendance 2006 vs. 2007 Looks like many people decided to play PLO instead of LHE this year. Updated with events #33 and #34. So far 9 events dropped in attendance and 11 gained. Considering there are more events this year, total attendance so far has to be up. The main event likely may be bigger once again this year. Can anyone tell I am a self employed accountant with too much time on my hands. | EVENT | 2006 | 2007 | % CHANGE | | #2 Employee NLHE | 1232 | 1039 | -15.7% | | #3 $1500 NLHE | 2776 | 2998 | 8.0% | | #4 $1500 PLHE | 1102 | 780 | -29.2% | | #6 $1500 LHE | 1068 | 910 | -14.8% | | #8 $1000 NLHE w/ rebuys | 752 | 844 | 12.2% | | #10 $2000 NLHE | 1919 | 1531 | -20.2% | | #11 $5000 7-stud | 183 | 180 | -1.6% | | #13 $5000 PLHE | 378 | 398 | 5.3% | | #15 $1500 NLHE | 2126 | 2628 | 23.6% | | #17 $1000 Women's NLHE | 1128 | 1286 | 14.0% | | #19 $2500 NLHE | 1290 | 1013 | -21.5% | | #21 $1500 NLHE Shootout | 600 | 900 | 50.0% | | #22 $5000 NLHE | 622 | 640 | 2.9% | | #23 $1500 PLO | 526 | 578 | 9.9% | | #25 $2000 NLHE | 1579 | 1619 | 2.5% | | #27 $1500 NLHE | 2803 | 2315 | -17.4% | | #29 $1500 Razz | 409 | 341 | -16.6% | | #30 $2500 NLHE 6-handed | 824 | 847 | 2.8% | | #33 $1500 PLO w/ rebuys | 158 | 293 | 85.4% | | #34 $3000 LHE | 415 | 296 | -28.7% | | #35 $1500 NLHE | 2126 | 2541 | 19.5% | | 24016 | 23977 | -0.2% |

If you look at the gaps in the event numbers in my spreadsheet, those were new events this year. Heads up, new this year. Multiple H.O.R.S.E. events too. If you were to make the money in every event you entered, you could enter no more than 14 events this year because of the overlap. None of the $5000+ events overlap.
