I watched the start of this tournament when I was in Vegas on Sunday. Wow, I never seen some much women in one room before in my life (1000+ players).

For some reason, when women play against women, they play real tight. They seem to loosen up a bit when they play in a mixed tournament. This was also confirmed by a friend who plays in both.

On Saturday, I believe the LIPS (womens) 4pm Tourney finshed at about the same time as the 8pm mixed tourney. They did have a 100 players more than the 8pm one.

My darling wifey played in the Ladies Event at the New Orleans Circuit Tourney, and it was not at all like this. Play was pretty good up to the bubble (which my wife just missed), then slowed down a little, then continued again pretty well. The final table was like a normal FT, not this watch-paint-dry snore-fest.

Don't know if it's because they're ladies, or 2 German Fraus, or amateurs, or what....
