Chips: 48 | | | High Stakes Poker - Season 3 Week 6 (Feb 19 2007) What did everyone think?
Loved Brian's re-raise of Barry with A-2.
I think Barry's lost all the money he won now off that pot from Eli last week | | Sponsored Links | |

Do you think that Wasicka is playing above his skill level? Maybe even his roll?? Interested to hear what others have to say about this... |

Interested to hear what others have to say about this... | anyone that's never played with this crew before is playing over his head, imo. that's fine, b/c it probably won't cost him much.
and yeah, of course he's over his roll. he cashed for 6 million. how much of that can he really consider his roll? even if he considers 2 million poker money, he only has 20 buyins here.
aba sold off plenty of himself for the show, as i understand it. |

Chips: 34 | | | Re: High Stakes Poker - Season 3 Week 6 (Feb 19 2007) Well, he won 6 million...I'd think he would have some endorsement deals that would cover his $100k buy-in. He's not a bad player, has done well in the past few years, not crazy money, but some top 15 finishes. I'm curious what he plays online, whether he plays mostly tourney or cash game.

ABA??? Can you elaborate on this?? |

poker endorsements are not like pro athletes so there is no chance he got enough money to cover a 100k buy-in. I would be suprised if he got enough to cover a single 10k tourney.
Aba = brian townsend (aba is one of his online names)
I think wasicka is probably over his head, but because of that he is smartly playing very tight.
I think townsend is probably a better NL cash player than most of the regulars, but they have an advantage in that they are more comfortable at the stakes, have more live experience, and know each other better. IMHO though, for just pure NL high stakes cash game uber-L33T skillz most of the HSP regulars are not the cream of the crop. now if you want to talk about high stakes mix games, I think that the bobby's room crowd definitely takes the cake. |

Chips: 17,154 | | | Re: High Stakes Poker - Season 3 Week 6 (Feb 19 2007) why wasicka plays a game in which he's a dog: - b/c he can afford it. his roll is short for the buyin, of course, but this goes under the category of "taking a shot".
- to position himself in case he has another couple of big cashes. wasicka's endorsement money right now is probably purty close to 0, as jim said. but that could be different if he cashes for another million or so this year or next. in that case, he'll be happy that people recognize his name, for his book deal and whatever other moneymaking ventures he gets into.

Chips: 21 | | | Re: High Stakes Poker - Season 3 Week 6 (Feb 19 2007) 6mil is enough of a roll for a 100k buy in game, esp one where you can only sit for 10-15 hours.. and he's playing better than a lot of the other tourney donks at the table (gold, ramdin, sheiky, matusow, etc)
now sbrugby on the other hand who apparently bought in for nearly half his net worth (700k)... |

So I guess under that ratio, it's sort of high depending on how much gamble you got. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
