Chips: 18,529 | | | phil hellmuth thinks two big cards are a favorite over a small pair first he insisted AQo is a favorite over 22
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 47.702% 47.40% 00.30% 58437504 371970.00 { AQo }
Hand 1: 52.298% 52.00% 00.30% 64104444 371970.00 { 22 }
then he tried to get bloch to bet 20k that AKs was a favorite over 22:
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 49.893% 49.57% 00.32% 20370432 133374.00 { AKs }
Hand 1: 50.107% 49.78% 00.32% 20458116 133374.00 { 22 }
until phil ivey tried to get some action, and phil realized he was drawing dead.
isn't this a little strange, considering that he insists he's the greatest hold 'em player of all time?
here's a prop bet that i think i read amarillo slim used to offer (so you know it's a sucker bet).
three hands, 22, JTs, and AKo. you get first pick, i get second. run it off X number of times for Y dollars a pop.
if you pick 22, i take JTs:
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 53.838% 53.12% 00.71% 21831816 293238.00 { JTs }
Hand 1: 46.162% 45.45% 00.71% 18677004 293238.00 { 22 }
if you take AK, i take 22
if you're dumb enough to take JTs, i take AK
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 37.992% 37.74% 00.25% 10339396 69288.00 { JTs }
Hand 1: 62.008% 61.75% 00.25% 16918892 69288.00 { AKs }

Chips: 5,690 | | | Re: phil hellmuth thinks two big cards are a favorite over a small pair Just to be a pain:
cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
Ah Kh 852207 49.77 849322 49.60 10775 0.63 0.501
2c 2d 849322 49.60 852207 49.77 10775 0.63 0.4990.501>0.499!
but if one of the deuces matches the suit of AK, deuces win:
cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
Ah Kh 845329 49.37 855521 49.96 11454 0.67 0.497
2d 2h 855521 49.96 845329 49.37 11454 0.67 0.503
I don't know how to specify just "suited" vs any pair of deuces in the program, but since half the time one of the deuces should match suited overcards, just averaging the % win for the two scenarios puts the deuces on top for any suited AK vs any two deuces, re-iterating that Phil is wrong. (Did that make sense?) Just playing devil's advocate with the first example (can't help him with the AQo though). |

Chips: 18,529 | | | Re: phil hellmuth thinks two big cards are a favorite over a small pair i mispasted the AKs v 22 in the OP. corrected now and posted below:
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 49.893% 49.57% 00.32% 20370432 133374.00 { AKs }
Hand 1: 50.107% 49.78% 00.32% 20458116 133374.00 { 22 }
but yeah, lucky, you got it right. you do that, btw, by clicking the preflop tab. |

As much as he knew they were egging him on he just couldn't keep his mouth shut. What an amazing contrast to last week's game. Funny how quiet they got for a few minutes as soon as he was out. |

Oh yeah I forgot He is Phil Hellmuth no matter what 2 cards he hold he has the best hand and if you move in on him your a donkey. If you move in on him with the best hand you should have known better, He is Phil Hellmuth. I'll be willing to bet he has never given anyone any money back when he has sucked out on the river to win a hand he was behind on. That is part of poker. You try to get your money in with the best hand but sometimes our wrong and still win. He makes it sound like any had he plays he should win because he is a genius. You would think a genius like him would know hand odds a lot better than that.
