Chips: 910 | | | Who's your favorite 'new' player from this year's WSOP main event telecast? I realize that it's a question that probably can't be answered with anything close to complete background information, given the editing that ESPN has undoubtedly done. However, that being said, who of the new players that we saw in the 2006 telecast do you most like and why?
My favorite is George Danzer from Germany. He's got a classy table manner and doesn't seem to trash-talk at all. He plays smart and gets into pots with the best hand a great deal of the time and also makes some tough folds when he should. I also think it's kind of cool that he bought his entry rather than winning it online. He seems to be very much an old-breed, rather than new-breed player.
For the record, George finished the M.E. in 305th place this year.
Your favorite?

his sunglasses (link).
his girlfriend.
his rap (link).
his fight with jeffrey lisandro over who forgot to ante.
his (relatively) cool demeanor when humberto brenes was being an a$$.
every one of these things made me appreciate him more. |

I went to bed around midnight EST and he was in 5th about out of cash, I was happy to hear he made it to 3rd. Especially after the interview, he came off as a very intelligent guy.

Pretty sure that this was proven later by video evidence. I thought that Prahlad was out of line with Lisandro the way he wouldn't shut up about what he thought had happened.
My 2 cents.

-jamby | he was wrong about who shorted the pot. that doesn't make him out of line, though. just wrong.
the guy who was out of line, imo, is the one that said he'd "take [friedman's] head off." |

I think the way he continued to question LIsandro in such an accusatory manner during play makes him out of line. It was the dealer's job at that point - he should have minded his own business and played his game without continuing to hound Lisandro.
Just my 2 cents and probably worth about that.

friedman implied, if i remember it right, that he'd seen lisandro do shady things before. if so, then getting fed up with the angle-shooting seems like an admirable trait.
...of course, indeed, he was wrong in this instance. |

Does memory fail though or is that Prahlad's wife and not girlfriend that watched him this year and that Norman Chad found so worthy of comment?
