Robert Altman, famed director of "M*A*S*H", "Gossford Park", and "A Prarie Home Companion" has passed away at age 81. Of interest to this community would be his 1974 film "California Split", arguably one of the greatest gamblin' flicks of all time.
RIP indeed. One of the top 2 directors, easy. He taugh Scorcese about the long shot, taught Woody Allen about comingling dialog, taugh a number of smaller filmmakers everything.
