Chips: 2,456 | | | 'High Stakes' for the Brits Apparently, Phil Ivey won't play high stakes for US viewers, but he will for those limeys, what gives? It's just not fair.

Phil Ivey is interested in competition, but not the spotlight, IMO. I don't think playing on British tv is going to hinder his personal or social life, like it does in America. I question if that's part of his motivation, that escalating his fame in Britain won't matter, since he spends virtually no time there anyways.
I think beating English pros is another frontier and another notch in his belt, but it won't add to the aggravation, that he faces daily from autograph seekers.
I really do want to see this show, though. Do they even have Tivo in England? Aren't they still watching Scopitones in England? |
