What do you think of the ESPN coverage of the 2006 WSOP?

Don't get me wrong I enjoy the coverage of the WSOP anytime I can watch it but personally I felt that there was way too much coverage of the circuit events e.g. 4 eps for the Tunica event and not enough of the bracklet events. What do others think?

I think the HORSE event deserved much more coverage - what a dream final table!!!!!

Have to agree with you. As much as I love Hold'em, I do like to see some of the other games e.g. Omaha, Stud etc.

Too much NLHE, to many circuit events. Could definitely have been better.

Re: What do you think of the ESPN coverage of the 2006 WSOP?

Like and dislike.

Could not stand the ME coverage. That was a complete waste of bandwidth. The other events are fair, however they seem to be only showing the final tables of each event, which it would be nice to see how the final table of such even rounded out.

The HORSE event I could watch every bit of it, even if it was 10 parts, week after week. Those are truly poker players. Playing the true essence of the game. All perfect gentlemen, polite, and playing the game, at its best.

Compare that to the ME!

Have too agree with the amount of NLHE but that's the nature of the poker beast at the moment. I'd love to see so Hi/Lo Split, Razz etc but I guess the Big Wigs at ESPN feel that the Average Joe won't understand what's going on a change the channel.

I think that the coverage could have been better. TV time was split between a lot of bad poker and too many characters.

Norman Chad cracks me up all the time. And I think Norman and Lon are a very good team. I, personally, wouldn't want to see that part of the coverage changed in any way.

Re: What do you think of the ESPN coverage of the 2006 WSOP?

I'd like to see more of other games, I see enough holdem. I'm trying to expand my games and if more folks are exposed to them there's a greater chance these games will become available. I loved watching the Omaha and Razz tournies from a few years ago, bring that stuff back.

Oh, man! Did I already miss out on the HORSE broadcast? CARP! When was it? That's what I was really hoping to see.

I agree with the general sentiment that there's too much NLHE and not enough of the other games. I'd love to see the 7-2 triple-draw tournament. Norm and Lon work really well together, and they provide good, entertaining commentary. Don't get me wrong, I love Gabe! He's awesome and does a great job with the HSP and the Heads-Up tournament, but Norm and Lon are now a fixture of the WSOP.
