+EV (poker-themed comic)

Ok, it's neither TV or movies, but I couldn't figure out a better place to put it (mods, feel free to move at will)

As posted on a poker-related list I'm on:

"Came across a poker themed comic, +EV, and thought it may be of interest
to the rest of you. I really enjoyed this one (probably because I don't
really care much for Mattusow): http://plusev.net/d/20060911.html

Here is the home page: http://plusev.net/

And here is the start of the series (Only as far back as August, so it'll
be quick to catch up), another I really enjoyed, as it's happened to me
way too many times: http://plusev.net/d/20060811.html "

FWIW, I think it's pretty funny, especially that Mike the Mouth one.

Pretty cool find. As a closet comic geek (well, okay, not so "closet"), I'll have to check it out.

Re: +EV (poker-themed comic)

Hey, I'm the writer of the comic -- glad you guys like it! I'm relatively new to the game (started playing 15 months ago) and I haven't played much live at all, but this site has really got me wanting a custom chip set featuring the characters from my strip. I'm thinking Scarlett for the $1 chips, Corbin for the $5 chips, Violet for the $25 chips, and of course Harold for the $100 chips, using the image from my avatar probably. Hopefully I'll be able to get those made some day!

I was hoping either the post on HPT or here would draw you out of the woodworks. Very nice work on the comics; big fan already. And a custom chip set would be very cool; I'd definitely like to buy samples if you went through with this.

Well now I'm even more interested in doing it! I'll probably wait until the strip gets a bit more popular so that I could possibly sell a decent amount of them and offset the costs a bit. I have no idea how to get them made, though. I'll have to browse these forums and find out more info.

Great comic +EV. I think my favourite is the one with the license plate. Thanks for posting it 4aces.

A custom set with your characters would be great! I'm sure if you're interested you'd get a lot of help around here.
