From what I had learned about Gold leading up to this whole thing around the time of and after winning the event, and along with what I've heard from his interviews, he's a real D-bag. He seems like a sleazeball and I'm not surprised in the least to read this story.

That was everything that I have read about him after the ME... Seemed to me that he wanted help and backing and now it seems like he has won now he doesnt want to pay up! Think he might be found in a hole in the Desert?? (Casino Refrence)?? |

With a 12 Million in cash or check you would think that he would have everyone looking for him?? Think about what happen to Greg Ramer last year. Hell, he almost got mugged... What's to say that someone wouldnt try to kill this guy for his money?? |

Chips: 840 | | | Re: Possible WSOP ME Spoiler **BEWARE** i was playing 4-handed $6/12 this past saturday at the venetian with a guy who's a pretty senior WSOP dealer. he said that Gold's contract with bodog specified that bodog would put up the money, and get half his winnings. however, the contract had provisions that allowed Gold to perform a pre-set number of marketing activities which would then entitle him to the full amount of any prize won. once the marketing activities (post wsop interviews, a tv commercial, and a couple of other things) were complete, bodog would release their claim to their half.
according to this guy (who dealt a portion of the final day), gold disappeared after the tournament, and didn't do any of the marketing stuff that was outlined in the contract. he went and partied for a week in vegas and LA, before eventually showing up at the RIO cage to collect his winnings. bodog had already filed a lien on their half of the money.
this guy also told me that apparently Gold said that if he won the tournament, he was going to tip the dealers $1M. he actually tipped $0.00.
of course, take that all for what it's worth - a conversation with a WSOP dealer at 10am at a poker table. he'd been there all night . . .

Haha and I know that I don't know GOld or anything about his life personally, but from what I've read I'll stick with my current opinion It's so easy to not like someone!!
