7/24 Hsp

some really interesting hands on tonight's episode, one of my favorites of this season....

straight flush, some huge bluffs with trash

how about 'i have a straight flush' while actually holding a straight flush and Negreanu took 10mins to lay down a bad straight. I didn't understand what Negreanu was waiting for to fold there. K9 beats him, any two diamonds...

Yup - how about a straight flush on your FIRST hand? I enjoyed seeing Matusow bust again. I will watch that hand over and over again.

Re: 7/24 Hsp

a Canadian guy I've never seen before had a sf with 9d8d. Negreanu raised on the river and I believe he reraised an additional $30,000....Negreanu made a comment about the flush possibility...he looked straight at Negreanu and very matter-of-factly said, "oh I have a straight flush." apparently it was so honest, that Negreanu didn't believe it...Matusow laughed and ragged on Daniel for not folding sooner after it was already announced...guy didn't show the hand, though...so no one found out for sure

but when Matusow questioned the comment, the guy said something along the lines of, "oh we're Canadian, we're just honest with each other"...(along those lines)

Matusow had a total garbage hand like J7 or 92, and Laak had K3 diamonds with 3 diamonds on board...Laak just called with position on every street, then Matusow went all-in on the river, and Laak called immediately...which ended Matusow's day...attribute it to Matusow's fatigue/carelessness & a great acting job by Laak, who was just milking it....

Brad Booth was the player who joined on...he made a straight flush, then folded forever and finally limped back in with A2o...he finished up $50K

Re: 7/24 Hsp

the canadian guy is brad booth. pretty successful cash game player, and starting to make a name in tournaments as well. some of the pros call him "the best unknown poker player in the world" (hellmuth, ivey). they were talking about him on The Circuit not long ago.

just had a big finish recently at one of next season's WPT events (don't want to ruin it for anyone, but you can look it up).

how about Harman being like "i folded the 9 ". booth was like "well, guess i got caught lying" (but wasn't).

Re: 7/24 Hsp

Matusow busting was just great. I couldn't believe he made that kind of play with the crap he was holding. Laak had been playing pretty conservatively and he had called both the flop and turn bets by Matusow so I would think Matusow should have read that he had a pretty good hand.

What does everyone think of the way Daniel Negreanu makes fun of Ming Ly? Personally if I was Ming I would have told him to stfu a couple times already.

That stuff makes me a little uncomfortable and I'm not even in the room. I think I'd be really uncomfortable if were at the table. Maybe that's the point of it?
