2006 WPT Championship (WARNING: RESULTS SPOILERS)

I put the warning in the topic in case people werent following the action at all.

This could turn into a really good final table. 54 strong players left in the field. Im really hoping Roland doesnt make the final table. I didnt really like him in the Grand Prix De Paris episode. I would like to see this final table:

Freddy Deeb
Amir Vahedi
Johnny Chan
Doyle Brunson
Evelyn Ng
Phil Hellmuth

It would be awesome for Doyle and Johnny to make the TV final table for this big event. As always, I gotta root for Phil so Id like to see him make it. Freddy and Amir are always fun to watch. And I think it would be good for a woman (Evelyn) to make the final of an event this big. What would be your favorite final table?

If Hellmuth, Chan, and Brunson could all make the table, I think it might truly be the greatest final table of all time.

If you could afford to get in this tournament, it has a really nice payout structure -- 100 cash out of 605 players.

wow, considering how many great players were left in the final 50 or so, this FT kinda blew.

i knew three players. men had no chips, van alstyne blew through his 6 million in what appears to be no time, and roland dewolfe?

Re: 2006 WPT Championship (WARNING: RESULTS SPOILERS)

Another WPT Championship I wont bother to Tivo. Was anyone else rooting for David Matthew? Reminded me of Michael from Lost, so I was rooting for him to win.

I swear, if Poker Superstars went to a two hour show and changed the structure, it would be the best poker show in history. Watching those guys play at the same table is amazing, but the structure ruins everything. I like the points format and all that, but the blind structure needs to change. Making the show 2 hours would help alot, then they could afford to change the blinds and show more poker.

I agree with you Nugz. I am still a huge fan of the first season. I picked it up on DVD and enjoy watching it every so often when something like Speed Poker Championship comes on!

I'm not going to give away anything with my post here, and it's probably in the wrong thread as well, but in the Natl Heads Up championship, there will be some unbelievable matches coming up soon. One of which went OVER 4 hours!!!

Once I saw the results pasted all over the new cardplayer magazine, I just went ahead and read the recaps.
