[Ok, so let's get this straight: they hired a guy to play James Bond who can't 1) drive a stick shift; 2) fight (he had his two front teeth knocked out in an earlier shoot), or; 3) play cards? Plus, he's blond? WTF were they thinking???]

Daniel Craig, 37, the British actor signed to be the next James Bond, recently admitted to his film bosses that he doesn't know how to play poker, said British newspaper, The Sun. Craig is currently filming scenes for the November, 2006, Bond film, "Casino Royale," which features a pivotal gambling scene where Bond displays his prowess at the poker table.
Following Craig's surprising revelation, producers of the film flew U.K. poker pro and director of the European Poker Tour (EPT), John Duthie, to Craig's Berlin hotel to teach him the basics of the game before filming of the scene began.
According to The Sun, "an insider said: 'Daniel could not play cards - it was so funny. It is a critical part of the film, where Bond shows how cool a customer he is…Everyone at the hotel has been laughing about a Bond who can’t play cards.'"
The source also admitted that "it was frustratingly ridiculous how long it took to teach the cast how to play or behave at a poker table."
In the scene, Bond must bluff his arch villain out of his entire fortune during an intense poker game.  |

As a hardcore James Bond fan, I thought it was lame when I first read that they were changing his game of choice to poker from Baccarat, just to cash in on the poker boom. |
