Chips: 579 | | | ChipFlix? I don't know how feasable this is, but I have TiVo and a DVD Recorder and was wondering if this board could somehow manage a NetFlix style Poker DVD library. Obviously this would be member to member, unless someone voulenteers as archivist. Also, (please don't ban me!) are there legal issues if there is no charge for DVD sharing? For instance, I have the Amirillo Slim Anything to Win saved and was going to burn it after the lively discussion in another thread. I TiVo all poker shows and the idea to make them available struck me. There was a book sharing movement once upon a time. I don't know about covering expenses (can't really charge without issues I wouldn't think) and recovering the DVDs. I loaned out a sample set of 2004 WSOP chipco replicas and never got them back . Thoughts? |

Chips: 6,850 | | | Re: ChipFlix? I understand the book exchange died for lack of interest, perhaps because many people prefer to own the books they really like (I know I do). As for a DVD exchange, I wonder whether just doing some lending on a case to case basis might work. For example, you've just posted that you have copies of lots of shows, so if I were look for a poker show, I would PM you about it.
I recently PMed a member about the WPT: I record it, and he doesn't have it. So I sent him my recorded copy. Cost me a buck or so (who cares), and I know I can trust this member to return the DVD. I'm usually all for setting up a system, but in this case I suspect it would be overkill. If anyone out there wants to borrow a DVD from you (or me), I would guess they will be asking.
And BTW, I do like the ChipPower sig -- Chip Geeks of the World Unite! You have nothing to lose but your savings account! |
